Publication number: 20260080386Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to receiving account information associated with an existing account of a user, and receiving a request to set up unique payment data associated with a maximum amount for transactions to be paid back using multiple future installments. The systems also generates the unique payment data that remains valid before an expiration date or until the maximum amount is exceeded. A merchant device receives data associated with a transaction, and the system determines, based at least in part on the data associated with the transaction, that the total amount is less than the maximum amount and that the data associated with the transaction is associated with a time. The system initiates the multiple future installments at respective points in time such that they are fulfilled by the existing account of the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2025Publication date: March 19, 2026Applicant: Afterpay Pty LtdInventors: Nicholas Molnar, David Whiteman

Patent number: 12387190Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprising, in an example, receiving a request to set up a payment for an amount using multiple future installments; analyzing data associated with a user to generate authorization data indicative of an authorization of the multiple future installments; sending the authorization data to a mobile device of the user, wherein the authorization data is presentable to any merchant associated with the installment payment service; receiving, from a merchant device, data associated with a transaction between the user and the merchant that identifies a total amount of at least one good or service and an indication of the authorization data; determining that the total amount is less than the amount requested; and initiating the installments. The authorization data may remain valid for use with any merchant associated with the installment payment service for a designated period of time or until the amount requested is exceeded.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2023Date of Patent: August 12, 2025Assignee: Afterpay Pty LtdInventors: Nicholas Molnar, David Whiteman
