  • Patent number: 9827064
Abstract: A shielded enclosure receives REID-tagged packaging from consumed medical items. The enclosure includes a housing and a lid. An opening in the lid receives the packaging into an internal space. A chute surrounds the opening and extends downward into the internal space. The chute has front, left, right, and rear walls. A hood attached to the lid surrounds the opening. An aperture in the hood allows passage of the packaging into the lid opening. The hood includes rear, right, left, and top walls. RF absorbing material covers inside surfaces of the chute and hood, including a front panel on the chute front wall, a rear panel on the hood rear wall and the chute rear wall, a left side panel on the hood left side wall and the chute left side wall, a right side panel on the hood right side wall and the chute right side wall, and a top panel on the hood top.

  • Publication number: 20150250512
Abstract: A pedicle screw assembly includes an elongated bone screw having an enlarged ball end. First and second seats are disposed on opposite sides of the ball end so that the ball is received between and seated within the first and second seats. An annular wave spring resiliently biases the first seat toward the second seat so as to provide a pre-clamping frictional engagement between the seats and the ball end to hold the seats in a selected position relative to the ball end.

  • Publication number: 20150250521
Abstract: A driver apparatus for a pedicle screw assembly includes a release shaft rotatably mounted in a driver housing. A lower end of the driver housing is configured to be received in a slot in the upper end of a connector housing of a pedicle screw assembly. The release shaft has a thread on its lower end which can be made up or unmade from threaded engagement with the internal threads of the connector housing of the pedicle screw assembly so as to connect or disconnect the driver apparatus from the pedicle screw assembly.

  • Publication number: 20150245859
Abstract: A cervical plate apparatus includes a cervical plate body having a plurality of screw receiving passages defined therethrough. Received about each of the passages is a zero-step locking member which is operatively associated with the passage and configured to automatically lock the head of the screw in place within the passage when the screw is seated within the passage to attach the cervical plate to the cervical vertebrae. The locking member is selectively movable to an unlocked position. A retention structure is configured to retain the locking member in either the unlocked or locked position without further engagement of the locking member by a surgeon, so that when the locking member has been moved to the unlocked position, it is held in that position so that the surgeon can then remove the screw or screws without having to simultaneously hold the locking member in a retracted position.
