  • Patent number: 10915897
Abstract: Methods and systems related to the use of tokenization services in payment processing systems are disclosed. The methods and systems include token translation services, token maps used as the basis for customer data models, specific approaches for securing the token maps and associated data, and the efficient storage of the token maps and associated data to facilitate enhanced payments experiences and analytics. One method includes transmitting a tokenization request with an encrypted payment account number from a POS to a tokenization service, receiving a token from the tokenization service in response to the tokenization request, salting the token with data to produce a salted token, encrypting the salted token using a secure processor on the POS, mapping the encrypted salted token to the payment account number in a map, and storing the map and the encrypted salted token in a memory on the secure processor on the POS.

  • Publication number: 20060265391
Abstract: A method and system to process a data search request. The system includes a query controller module to receive the data search request that includes constraints; a reduced constraint builder module to formulate a plurality of search definitions that are formulated to exclude at least one constraint; and a search engine to perform searches of a data source to generate search results and to utilize the search results to calculate counts of data items that respectively correspond to the search definitions. The query controller module communicates the counts of data items and the corresponding search definitions to a client machine. Each of the search definitions is formulated to include a constraint set.

  • Publication number: 20050144086
Abstract: A method and system of providing listing recommendations to users of a network-based commerce system including a plurality of listings arranged in a plurality of divisions is described. The method includes identifying a division of the plurality of divisions based on user interaction with the network-based commerce system, and identifying at least one frequently used search term associated with the division. A link is provided to the user to listings associated with the frequently used search term. The search terms may be ranked by retrieving frequently used search terms from a first memory location and determining a number of listings in each division associated with each frequently used search term. Each frequently used search term may then be ranked based on the number of listings in each division.

  • Publication number: 20040138988
Abstract: A method and system to facilitate a search of a database utilizing multiple search criteria is provided. The method includes receiving first and second search criteria from a user and, presenting the user with an option selectively to include and exclude each of the first and second search criteria from a search query run against the database. In one embodiment, the database forms part of a web-based auction facility and the first and the second search criteria are associated with listings up for auction on the auction facility. The method may include rendering to the user a web page including a first search criteria section for receiving the first search criteria from the user; and a second search criteria section for receiving the second search criteria from the user.
