  • Patent number: 10679427
Abstract: Systems and methods for conveying virtual content in an augmented reality environment comprising images of virtual content superimposed over physical objects and/or physical surroundings visible within a field of view of a user as if the images of the virtual content were present in the real world. Exemplary implementations may: obtain user information for a user associated with a presentation device physically present at a location of the system; compare the user information with the accessibility criteria for the virtual content to determine whether any portions of the virtual content are to be presented to the user based on the accessibility criteria and the user information for the user; and facilitate presentation of the virtual content to the user via presentation device of user based on the virtual content information, the field of view, and the correlations between the multiple linkage points and the reference frame of the virtual content.

  • Publication number: 20200175772
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and facilitating access to a personalized augmented rendering of a user to be presented in an augmented reality environment are discussed herein. The augmented rendering of a user may be personalized by the user to comprise a desired representation of the user in an augmented reality environment. When a second user is detected within the field of view of a first user, the second user may be identified and virtual content (e.g., an augmented rendering) for the second user may be obtained. The virtual content obtained may differ based on one or more subscriptions for the first user and/or permissions associated with the virtual content of the second user. The virtual content obtained may be rendered and appear superimposed over or in conjunction with a view of the second in the augmented reality environment.

  • Patent number: 10672170
Abstract: Systems and methods for utilizing a device as a marker for virtual content viewed in an augmented reality environment are discussed herein. The device (or sign post) may comprise a wirelessly connectable device linked to a power source and associated with multiple linkage points. The device may provide information to a user (or a device of a user) defining virtual content and a correlation between the linkage points and a reference frame of the virtual content. When rendered by a display device, the virtual content may be presented based on the reference frame of the virtual content correlated to the real world by virtue of the position of the linkage points in the real world.

  • Patent number: 10661170
Abstract: Systems and methods for rendering of a virtual content object in an augmented reality environment based on a physical marker are discussed herein. Virtual content objects may be rendered by a display device in an augmented reality environment based on the field of view seen through the display device and a position of a marker (and one or more linkage points associated with the marker) in the real world. When rendered in the augmented reality environment, the virtual content objects may be visualized from any angle, from the exterior or interior of the object, and manipulated in response to user input. Virtual content objects and/or user visualizations of virtual content objects may be shared with other users (local and/or remote), enabling multiple users to potentially build, modify, and/or interact with a virtual content object simultaneously and/or cooperatively.

  • Patent number: 10636188
Abstract: Systems and methods for utilizing living entities as markers for virtual content in an augmented reality environment are discussed herein. The virtual content may comprise objects, surfaces, textures, effects, and/or other content visibly manifested in views of the augmented reality environment. In some implementations, the virtual content may comprise an avatar and/or other full- or partial-body virtual content object depicted based on the living entity. A living entity and multiple linkage points for the living entity may be detected within the field of view of a user. Based on the arrangement of the linkage points, virtual content may be rendered and appear superimposed over or in conjunction with a view of the living entity in the augmented reality environment. In some implementations, the rendering of virtual content in the augmented reality environment may be triggered by the arrangement of the multiple linkage points for a given living entity.

  • Publication number: 20200110560
Abstract: Systems and methods for interfacing with one or more non-human entities based on user interaction with an augmented reality environment are discussed herein. A non-human entity may comprise a smart device, a software agent (such as a virtual assistant), a connected device, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an artificial intelligence-powered device, and/or other electronic device or component configured to perform tasks or services based on user input. Based on user input related to virtual content depicted in an augmented reality environment, the systems and methods described herein may be configured to identify a non-human entity to interface with, identify actions to be executed by the non-human entity, identify information to be communicated to the non-human entity, and cause the identified information and instructions to execute the identified actions to be communicated to the non-human entity.
