  • Publication number: 20240095568
Abstract: In a general aspect, parametric amplification is performed in a quantum computing system. In some cases, a traveling wave parametric amplifier (TWPA) includes a plurality of Josephson junctions connected in series. The plurality of Josephson junctions includes a first Josephson junction, which includes a first superconducting electrode on a surface of a substrate, a second superconducting electrode that overlaps the first superconducting electrode, and a barrier sandwiched between overlapping sections of the first and second superconducting electrodes. The barrier defines a footprint with a tapered shape over the surface of the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20240051681
Abstract: A system for landing spot analysis including an electric aircraft and a sensor connected to the electric aircraft. The sensor is configured to detect a landing datum relating to a possible landing spot, wherein the landing datum comprises information regarding the physical properties of the possible landing spot. The system also including a controller onboard the electric aircraft and communicatively connected to the sensor. The controller is configured to receive a command identifying at least the possible landing spot, receive the landing datum from the sensor, generate a landing determination as a function of the landing datum, wherein the landing determination relates to the suitability of the possible landing spot and generating the landing determination includes transmitting a landing request to air traffic control, and transmit the landing determination to a pilot.

  • Publication number: 20180033266
Abstract: Several methods and a system of automated motion disturbance detection and alerting are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes associating a protection device with a movable tangible personal property. The method also includes activating the protection device remotely. The method further includes detecting, through a sensor in the protection device, a motion disturbance of the movable tangible personal property. The method further includes automatically responding based on a set of user-specified preferences when an intensity of the motion disturbance exceeds a minimum threshold of a sensitivity associated with the protection device. The method furthermore includes relaying a confirmed motion disturbance of the movable tangible persona property to a user of the protection device. The method furthermore includes protecting the movable tangible personal property through the automatic response of the protection device.

  • Publication number: 20100314908
Abstract: A ROPS-capable cab frame beltline support member for a vehicle cab frame which includes left and right rear corner posts. The beltline support member extends between the rear corner posts and is spaced apart above the lower ends of the posts. The support member includes first and second parts welded together. The support member includes a central portion, a left end fixed to the left rear corner post and a right end fixed to the right rear corner post. The central portion is offset rearwardly with respect to its left and right ends. The first part includes a midportion, a left flange portion and a right flange portion. The midportion has a C-shaped cross sectional shape. The midportion of the first part has a wider upper side, a back plate and a narrower lower side. The second part includes flanged ends and an elongated member having a first edge which engages an inner surface of the first part, and having a side surface which engages an edge of the first part.

  • Patent number: 7481287
Abstract: A vehicle cooling package has a fan shroud mounted to a heat exchanger assembly. A diverter plate is mounted adjacent to the shroud and spaced therefrom with a fan interposed therebetween. A diverting surface of the shroud and the diverter plate are angled from the axis of the fan when the shroud and plate are assembled to the vehicle. A vehicle hood has upper and side surfaces each having air discharge apertures corresponding with the space between the diverting surface and the diverter plate when the hood is closed. The diverting surface and the diverter plate both extend fully to the hood assembly when the hood is closed. The angles of the diverting surface and the diverter plate closely match a natural discharge angle of the fan, so that air is discharged from the fan at a high velocity from under the hood through the air discharge apertures.
