    Abstract: A method for the prevention and/or treatment of skin or hair damage, particularly inflammation and aging of skin and hair damage from sunlight and chemicals, in which a tocotrienol, a derivative thereof or a vitamin E preparation enriched with tocotrienol or a tocotrienol derivative, is topically applied to the exposed or affected skin or hair areas. A fat-soluble fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid such as palmityl ascorbate is preferably applied with the tocotrienol in association with a dermatologically acceptable carrier.
