  • Patent number: 10631525
Abstract: A multi-path aquarium filtration system has multiple chambers adapted to receive different types of treatment systems, and has a bypass gate assembly and at least one alternative flow path. By adjusting the bypass gate assembly volumetric flow rate between certain chambers is managed.

  • Patent number: 9089115
Abstract: An aquarium system having a tank supported by a base, the base having a drawer that that retains the operational components of the filtration system. An overflow chute is positioned within the tank, the chute having an open top such that water from the tank may flow into the chute and into the drawer. The drawer has a receiving compartment located beneath the chute and a return compartment separated from the receiving compartment by a filter such that water is drawn through the filter and into the return compartment by a pump. The pump then delivers the filtered water from the return compartment into the tank through a conduit passing up through the chute. The filtration system is fully operational with the drawer closed or partially open.

  • Publication number: 20050166858
Abstract: An aquarium assembly having a frame defining a series of tank cavities. The frame will support both freshwater tanks and saltwater tanks, which are interchangeable within the tank cavities. A saltwater spout is positioned above said tank cavity such that said saltwater spout exclusively connects with the saltwater tank to fill the tank. A freshwater spout is positioned above said tank cavity such that said freshwater spout exclusively connects with the freshwater tank to fill the tank. The tanks include drains specifically positioned according to the water held by the tank, such that saltwater will drain to a saltwater filter and freshwater will drain to a freshwater filter. The filtered water is then redirected to the frame and the tanks where desired by the user. The freshwater filter further includes a skimming cup design that efficiently skims the unfiltered freshwater to be returned to the freshwater tanks.

  • Patent number: 6641718
Abstract: An aquarium filtering system for gravity flow systems wherein a float valve is incorporated in the drain conduit from the aquarium, wherein the float valve is operated by the water level of filtered water within a sump, such that if the water level in the sump rises above a predetermined level due to inadequate water return to the aquarium, the drain conduit will be closed by the float valve. A pre-filter is incorporated in the drain conduit to filter water upstream of the float valve, with the filter preferably being a sock filter enclosed in a sealed housing which remains filled with water. Most preferably, the float valve and any pumps utilized in the system are submerged within the water in the sump to reduce noise.
