  • Patent number: 5931708
Abstract: A connector has an attaching portion with a first axis extending in a first direction, a first free end adapted to receive a mating connection element, and a second end spaced from the first free end along the first axis. The connector further has first and second arm portions coupled to the second end of the attaching portion and extending outwardly therefrom. Each of the arm portions has a second longitudinal axis extending transverse to the first axis of the attaching portion. Each of the first and second arm portions further has a plurality of ports for receiving conducting devices or conductors, each of the ports being open towards a direction that is transverse to the second longitudinal axis. Preferably, the first and second arm portions and the attaching portion are integrally formed as a unitary, one-piece member.

  • Patent number: 4740174
Abstract: A tension clamp adapted for mounting electrical and communications cables is provided. A flexible elongated C-shaped bail member is connected to a first clamp body portion on one end and a second clamp body portion on the other end. The clamp portions are plate-like and have opposing faces defining a cable recess therebetween. Bolts connecting the first and second body portions may be laterally translated out of grooves in one of the body portions to permit relative lateral translation of the body portions, without disconnecting the bail from the body portion, and enabling side mounting of a cable therewithin.

  • Patent number: 4645867
Abstract: A dead end assembly having a threaded U-bolt and a compression sleeve for coupling to the guy wire. A portion of the guy wire is inserted into the sleeve with the sleeve crimped thereabout. The sleeve is positioned adjacent a yoke which slides onto the bolt and is maintained by nuts screwed onto the ends of the bolt. These nuts may be threaded down allowing the yoke to be moved to provide a proper tensioning of the guy wire. A brace is provided along the U-bolt to act as a spacer and for added reinforcement of the legs of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4453034
Abstract: A core grip for use in conjunction with a conduction cable having an outer conductor and core element in a hollow elongated compression valve wherein the grip is disposed on an end portion of the core of the cable after the outer conductor has been stripped away and the compression valve is disposed about the grip and is crimped into an engagement with the grip which in turn mechanically engages the core wherein the core grip is formed from two separate semi-circular cylindrical halves made of a deformable metal which when joined together from a solid cylindrical grip having an axial core therethrough coated with grit which is adapted to receive the core of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4146290
Abstract: An electrical connector comprising a metal body provided with a bore extending longitudinally therethrough, and at least one opening or window directly intersecting the bore above a base surface of the body. A screw means having a relatively large diameter (in terms of the width and length of the metal body) extends into the body adjacent the opening or window and perpendicular to the axis of the bore. The screw means is effective to place the body portions on opposed sides of the window and the connector in tension when the screw compressibly engages a cable or conductor inserted into the bore against the base surface, and to enhance shear in such a cable or conductor in the general direction of travel of the screw in a controlled manner.

  • Patent number: 3996417
Abstract: A connector is disclosed which includes an electrically conductive compression barrel and a deformable core grip which includes an inner sleeve and three longitudinally extending lobes projecting radially outwardly from the sleeve. The core grip fits over the projecting end of the reinforcing core member in a cable, and the end of the cable with the core grip thereon and a length of the cable with conductor strands thereon fit into the end of the compression barrel which is crimped against the core grip and against the conductor strands. Crimping produces a strong mechanical connection between the core grip and both the cable core contained therein and the surrounding compression barrel, and produces a good electrical connection of the compression barrel to the conductor strands on the cable.
