  • Publication number: 20240115235
Abstract: An ultrasound system comprises a robotic system to position an ultrasound probe against and move the probe over a body part; and a data generating module to control the robotic system to generate training data comprising images associated with target view(s), being associated with a target position of the probe that has a plurality of training positions that includes a direction pointing towards the target position; a machine learning module comprising a trained algorithm to receive image(s) at a current probe position information defining a direction pointing towards an estimated position based on the image(s); and, an execution module to autonomously control the robotic system including: moving the probe to find an optimal position for each of the target view(s) based on estimated direction information generated by the algorithm for different probe positions and to capture at the optimal position for each of the target view(s), image(s).

  • Publication number: 20240104338
Abstract: A method comprising: sampling a temporal causal graph from a temporal graph distribution specifying probabilities of directed causal edges between different variables of a feature vector at a present time step, and from one variable at a preceding time step to another variables at the present time step. Based on this there are identified: a present parent which is a cause of the selected variable in the present time step, and a preceding parent which is a cause of the selected variable from the preceding time step. The method then comprises: inputting a value of each identified present and preceding parent into a respective encoder, resulting in a respective embedding of each of the present and preceding parents; combining the embeddings of the present and preceding parents, resulting in a combined embedding; inputting the combined embedding into a decoder, resulting in a reconstructed value of the selected variable.

  • Patent number: 11584784
Abstract: The disclosure relates to systems and methods for improving the manufacturing of silk solutions and powders containing silk fibroin obtained from silkworm cocoons. The methods include use of a reactor vessel to degum, rinse, and dissolve the silk fibroin protein from silk inputs to obtain a food grade silk powder. The reactor vessel may include a combination of inputs and outputs for introducing and removing different components used or generated during the process. The systems may include any combination of heat exchangers, holding tanks, filtration modules, and post-treatment equipment as necessary to obtain the silk powder. The solutions and powders can be used to improve the post-harvest preservation of perishables and to improve the performance of packaging, including biodegradable packaging.

  • Patent number: 6763347
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for selectively loading indexes into main memory to improve hierarchical database performance, called hot indexing. The most frequently accessed portions of database contents or indexes are loaded into memory. By not loading the entire database into main memory, the size of the database is not limited by the size of the memory. At the same time, targeting the most frequently accessed portion ensures that the desired database content or index is in the faster main memory as opposed to the slower disk based memory. Moving the entire portion into memory, as opposed to making disk based queries to content, speeds up the entire data mining process dramatically. A synchronization method guarantees that changes made to the portion in main memory are reflected in the more permanent disk-based memory.
