  • Patent number: 5404144
Abstract: Incoming signals radiated to an array of antennas are processed within a nal surveillance system by adding signal outputs of two antennas at a common frequency. Separation of the added signal outputs according to frequency and comparison of power level measurement thereof provides signal phase difference data from which frequency and direction of the incoming signals are simultaneously determined.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 1994
Date of Patent: April 4, 1995
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy
    Inventor: Nickolas P. Vlannes
  • Patent number: 5040135
Abstract: The invention is a method for obtaining fringe visibility in hybrid-optical interferometric processors. Encoded data defining an image is utilized to provide both a timing input signal and a method of modulating a light source in synchronization with the modulation of an optical-acoustical element. The modulated light is then detected in a receptor array and converted into signals suitable for driving a readable, visual-imaging device or other devices for image analysis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 23, 1989
Date of Patent: August 13, 1991
Assignee: Environmental Research Institute of Michigan
Inventors: Carl C. Aleksoff, Nikola S. Subotic, Nickolas P. Vlannes
  • Patent number: 5004673
Abstract: A method of manufacturing surface relief patterns of variable depth in solid materials is disclosed, which patterns, when seen in cross-section, are of variable geometry.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 1989
Date of Patent: April 2, 1991
Assignee: Environmental Research Institute of Michigan
