  • Publication number: 20240094030
Abstract: A-implemented method initializes a localization system for a vehicle, the localization system using map data comprising a plurality of maps for localizing the vehicle in an area The method includes associating map related information with a last available position of the vehicle which was used by the localization system before shutdown of the localization system, wherein the map related information comprises a unique identifier for a first map of the plurality of maps which was used for localizing the vehicle at the last available position, at start-up of the localization system with respect to the last available position, loading a map from the plurality of maps for localizing the vehicle at the last available position and verifying if the loaded map is the first map by using the unique identifier, and when it is verified that the first map is loaded, initializing the localization system with the last available position in the first map.

  • Publication number: 20230349701
Abstract: A method for handling a localization system in a vehicle is provided. The method comprises, when initializing the localization system, obtaining at least one current parameter, at least one stored parameter, and a reference position of the vehicle. The at least one current parameter is indicative of a current position state of the vehicle. The at least one stored parameter is indicative of a position state of the vehicle before a shutdown of the localization system. The reference position is a position of the vehicle before the shutdown of the localization system. The method further comprises determining whether or not the vehicle has moved since the shutdown of the localization system by using the current position state and the stored position state of the vehicle. The method further comprises, when determining that the vehicle has not moved since the shutdown of the localization system, configuring the localization system using the reference position.
