  • Publication number: 20120235267
Abstract: A front-illuminated avalanche photodiode (APD) includes an opening (16) for incident light, a number of various semiconductor layers from the opening and downwards including a multiplication layer (7), a field-control layer (8) and an absorption layer (10), where the absorption layer is arranged to absorb photons. Under the absorption layer (10) there is at least one Bragg mirror (14) arranged to reflect photons, that have passed the absorption layer (10) from the opening back to the absorption layer.

  • Patent number: 8229813
Abstract: An access point for mobile devices with wireless communication capability for usage in a packet based network, said network comprising at least one gateway having access to a remote service, the access point comprises communication means for establishing communication with at least one or more access point in order to form a network between at least said access points. Also, there are means for adding the identity of the mobile device; and registering means for registering the identity of data packets transferred through said access point. The invention also concerns a method and system for billing in such a network.

  • Patent number: 6683853
Abstract: A system and method for allocating system resources to provide a selected quality of service in connection with data communications. A mobile user station requests a first quality of service level for a data communication session. In response to a determination that system resources for providing the first quality of service level are unavailable, the system assigns resources for providing a second quality of service level for the data communication session. Thereafter, during the communication session, the system monitors the availability of system resources. If system resources for providing the first quality of service level become available, the system allocates the system resources for use by the user station and upgrades or downgrades the communication session accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20020034935
Abstract: Concepts are mapped between Media Gateway Control protocols (e.g., H.248/MEGACO) and specifications for packet-switched services like the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), enabling Media Gateway Control protocols to be applied in a GPRS environment. For example, a GPRS user-plane entity can represent part or all of a (GPRS) mobility management context by a (Media Gateway Control protocol) Context. Also, a GPRS user-plane entity can represent at least the part of a (GPRS) PDP context going towards a user-plane peer as a (Media Gateway Control protocol) Termination. Two GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) tunnels related to one PDP context (either a primary PDP context or a secondary PDP context) and going towards the same user plane peer can be represented by a (Media Gateway Control protocol) Stream, and a (GPRS) GTP tunnel containing received packets can be represented by a (Media Gateway Control protocol) Local Descriptor.
