  • Patent number: 9687763
Abstract: A filter medium for removing metallic particles, in particular for liquid filtration, is provided. The filter medium is comprised of a substrate, an adhesive layer containing magnetic particles applied onto the substrate, and at least one nanofiber layer arranged on the adhesive layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 25, 2014
Date of Patent: June 27, 2017
    Assignee: MANN+HUMMEL GMBH
Inventors: Nico Behrendt, Anton Kreiner, Bjoern Schmid
  • Patent number: 9421486
Abstract: A filter medium, in particular for air filtration, is provided with a substrate and at least one nanofiber layer applied onto the substrate. The nanofiber layer has cavities in or between the nanofibers. In a method for producing the nanofiber layer, a spinning solution for electrospinning from a polymer solution by a spinning electrode and a counter electrode is provided, wherein electrical voltage is applied to the spinning solution and air is passed through the spinning solution. The nanofibers produced by the spinning electrode are deposited onto the substrate that is moved past the counter electrode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2014
Date of Patent: August 23, 2016
    Assignee: MANN+HUMMEL GMBH
Inventors: Nico Behrendt, Sylvia Beier-Moys, Bjoern Schmid, Anton Kreiner

  • Patent number: 8801998
Abstract: In a method for producing a polyamide nanofiber product that contains PTFE particles, a spinning solution containing polyamide, PTFE, and a conductivity-increasing additive is provided and nanofibers are produced by electrospinning from the spinning solution. The conductivity-increasing additive is an acid-resistant additive; a surfactant additive; or an acid-resistant and surfactant additive and contains one or more organic salts. The polyamide nanofiber product with PTFE particles is used in filter media and is especially applied to a filter layer of cellulose or synthetic material.

  • Patent number: 8414821
Abstract: A method for electrostatic spinning of thermoplastic polymers for obtaining nano and microfibers, is introduced. The method if characterized by the following steps: solving the thermoplastic polymer in a corresponding solvent; adding a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) to this solution, and introducing the solution into an electric field and spinning under the effect of the electric field to nano and microfibers.
