Abstract: A device for inserting a substantially vertical drainage wick, comprising a movable frame; an inserting lance which is provided with a passage for receiving the drainage wick and corresponding with the longitudinal axis of the inserting lance; a standing guide for the inserting lance supported by the frame; a supply mechanism for arranging the drainage wick in unwindable manner; a drive; a transmission connected to the drive; and at least on drive member coacting with the transmission, the inserting lance drive including a closed loop of a flexible element with one part of the closed loop coacting with the transmission and the other part of the loop fixed to the inserting lance.

Abstract: In inserting a drainage wick into the ground, a tube containing the drainage wick is plunged into the ground with continuous downward driving force, whereafter the tube is withdrawn leaving the wick embedded in the ground.

Abstract: A pair of sections each has a thin main body portion with male and female interlocking means along opposite side edges. The male interlocking means of one section is connected with the female interlocking means of the adjacent section in dovetail interlocking fashion to provide an intimate fit therebetween. The terminal ends of the inwardly turned flanges of the female interlocking means of one section are disposed closely adjacent the opposite sides of the main body of the adjacent section. A trough is defined within a recess in the female interlocking means and has sealing means disposed therein.
