  • Publication number: 20130301237
Abstract: A dual fluorescent wheel with two disk-shaped carrier elements which are interconnected by wing-type cooling ribs is disclosed. When the dual fluorescent wheel rotates, air flows in through an axial opening in one of the carrier elements, the air flows radially through the interspace between the carrier elements or the wing-type cooling ribs and flows out at the edge. This airflow improves the dissipation of heat which is produced when an excitation laser irradiates the annular fluorescent strips located on the two exterior faces.

  • Publication number: 20130294045
Abstract: A solar simulator with at least one lamp module, where the luminous module contains multiple light generating units is disclosed. Each of the light generating units contain at least one semiconductor light source, which generate light in a plurality of separately controllable wavelength ranges. Disposed downstream from the light generating units is a light-concentrating primary optical unit. A light-homogenizing secondary optical unit is likewise disposed downstream of the light generating units. And an imaging tertiary optical unit is disposed downstream of the secondary optical unit. A method for operating the solar simulator and the light generating units in such a way that the solar simulator generates light radiation that alters over time is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20130155648
Abstract: The invention concerns a light source unit of tunable spectral properties, having a pump light source and a phosphor element for a conversion of pump light into converted light intended for illuminating a target, wherein the phosphor element has at least two phosphor element sections interacting differently with pump light, and wherein the light source unit further comprises a deflecting unit, such as a zoom lens or a variable diffraction grating, for deflecting the pump light so as to vary a distribution of pump light incident onto the phosphor element with respect to the different phosphor element sections, in order to vary spectral properties of the combined converted light beam emanating from the light source unit.
