  • Patent number: 10247186
Abstract: A variable lubricant vane pump which provides a pressurized lubricant for an engine includes a pump housing comprising a pump chamber. The pump chamber comprises pump compartments which rotate from a charge zone to a discharge zone. The pressurized lubricant is discharged from the pump compartments into an outlet cavity. A control ring envelopes the pump chamber and shifts between high and a low pumping volume position. A pump rotor comprises radially slidable vanes which rotate in the control ring. A pressure control chamber pushes the control ring into the high pumping volume direction. A control valve connects or disconnects the pressure control chamber to a lubricant tank. A pilot chamber pushes the control ring into the low pumping volume direction. A pilot chamber channel connects the outlet cavity with the pilot chamber. A control chamber channel connects the outlet cavity with the pressure control chamber.

  • Patent number: 10024207
Abstract: A lubricant pump comprises a shiftable control ring, a pump rotor rotating in the control ring, a pump outlet, and a pressure control system. The pressure control system comprises a pressure control chamber which pushes the control ring into a high pumping volume direction, an engine pressure input port connected to an engine pressure output port of an engine, a pilot chamber connected to the engine pressure input port which pushes the control ring into a low pumping volume direction, and a pressure control valve which controls a pressure in the pressure control chamber. The pressure control valve comprises a control valve plunger which opens/closes a control port to connect/disconnect the pressure control chamber to the atmospheric. The control valve plunger is fluidically connected to the engine pressure input port so that the control valve plunger is pushed by a lubricant pressure of the engine into an open position.

  • Patent number: 9909584
Abstract: A lubricant vane pump for providing a pressurized lubricant for an internal combustion engine includes a pump housing enclosing a pumping cavity comprising a charge zone and a discharge zone. A shiftable control ring envelops the pumping cavity. A pump rotor comprising vanes divides the pumping cavity into pumping chambers. The pump rotor is radially slidable and rotates in the control ring from the charge zone to the discharge zone. A spring chamber comprises a pretensioning element which pushes the control ring to a high pumping volume direction. A control chamber is configured so that a lubricant pressure in the control chamber moves the control ring to a low pumping volume direction against a force of the pretensioning element. A pumping cavity outlet port is connected to the control chamber. A pressure equilibration channel drains the lubricant from the pumping chamber in the discharge zone into the spring chamber.
