Patent number: 11517928Abstract: A coating apparatus and a method are disclosed for coating tablets in a rotating drilled container at the outlet of which a rotating annular element operates that is coaxial with the container, in which in an initial transition phase the annular element rotates in a direction that is opposite the rotation direction of the container to retain the tablets inside the container, forming a bed of tablets until a desired level is reached, and in a stationary phase the annular element rotates in a direction that is the same as the rotation of the container to permit the exit of the tablets, until the quantity of tablets entering the container is the same that the quantity exiting.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2018Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Inventors: Nicola Gandolfi, Gjergj Darragjati

Patent number: 11148157Abstract: A coating apparatus and method are disclosed for coating tablets with a film, in which the tables transit through a drilled first container where they are coated, then exit the first container and are removed from a rotating element provided on the periphery of a plurality of removal members that are spaced angularly apart from one another, in which each removal member removes a quantity of tablets, raises the removed tables as far as a certain height and then discharges the tablets into a chute that conveys the tablets into a second rotating drilled container, with delicate transfer of the coated tablets from one container to the next.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2018Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Inventors: Nicola Gandolfi, Gjergj Darragjati

Patent number: 11123762Abstract: A method for coating bulk material uses a coating apparatus to produce a continuous flow of coated material having a predetermined stationary coating weight gain. Coating material is sprayed on the bulk material in two phases within respective first and second rotatable tubular containers of the coating apparatus. In the first rotatable container, the bulk material is partially coated with a pre-set weight gain. In the second rotatable container, the bulk material is sprayed with a coating material to obtain a bulk material coated with the predetermined stational coating weight gain. A transition phase is provided between the two spray periods during which a load of coated bulk material from the first container is transferred at a transfer flow rate to the second container while a new load of bulk material is fed to the first container at the same flow rate as the transfer flow rate.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2018Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Inventors: Nicola Gandolfi, Jola Gorreja
