  • Patent number: 7776158
Abstract: Aqueous floor cleaning and/or care composition, containing, based on the total composition, at least 3% by weight of a nonionic surfactant of formula I: wherein R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl radical having 1 to 18 C atoms, and R2, independently of R1, represents hydrogen or an alkyl radical having 1 to 18 C atoms, and the sum of the C atoms present overall in R1 and R2 is between 6 and 18, and R3 represents an alkyl radical having 4 to 18 C atoms, and R4 hydrogen or an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 C atoms and n is a number from 1 to 30 and m a number from 0 to 5.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 22, 2009
Date of Patent: August 17, 2010
    Assignee: Ecolab USA Inc.
Inventors: Karl-Heinz Rogmann, Nicola Kriens, Heiko Faubel
  • Patent number: 7674760
Abstract: Floor finishes are stripped or deep scrubbed using a floor stripper/cleaner composition containing sparingly water-soluble floor finish solvent; water; sulfonic acid, sulfate acid, phosphonic acid, phosphate acid or aromatic acid coupler in an amount sufficient to provide a homogenous aqueous liquid phase and no or low foaming during shaking; and sufficient organic amine so that the composition pH is about 2 to about 11.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2005
Date of Patent: March 9, 2010
    Assignee: Ecolab Inc.
Inventors: Robert D. P. Hei, Brian R. Leafblad, Minyu Li, Lauren K. Carlson, Nicola Kriens, Christian Franz Liko
  • Publication number: 20100029533
Abstract: Floor finishes are stripped or deep scrubbed using a floor stripper/cleaner composition containing a phenyl-substituted alkyl alcohol, an oxygenated swelling solvent other than the phenyl-substituted alkyl alcohol, water, sufficient coupler so that the composition has a single phase, and sufficient saponification agent comprising the reaction product of a fatty acid or fatty ester with a stoichiometric excess of an alkali metal hydroxide or ammonium hydroxide so that the composition has an alkaline pH and has a reduced oily residue after stripping when compared to an otherwise similar composition that does not contain the saponification agent. The composition is useful for removing ultradurable (e.g., crosslinked) floor finishes, especially on flooring substrates that are susceptible to chemical attack.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 27, 2009
    Publication date: February 4, 2010
Inventors: Nicola Kriens, Christian Liko, Matthias Menzel
