  • Publication number: 20190125498
Abstract: The present invention describes a dental kit-of-parts comprising an implant abutment having at least a surface, a through hole configured to accommodate at least part of a screw shaft therein, and is configured to be connected to a dental implant implanted in a jawbone; a dental restoration having at least an inner surface and an outer surface, a channel through which a tool is insertable, and is configured to be connected to the implant abutment via the inner surface; and a screw having a screw head, a threaded screw shaft, wherein the diameter of the screw head is larger than the diameter of the screw shaft, and is configured to connect a pre-assembly including the implant abutment and the dental restoration to the dental implant. The pre-assembly is so configured as to comprise therein a recess that encloses at least the screw head, whereby the screw is a captive screw.

  • Patent number: 10111734
Abstract: The present invention describes a dental kit-of-parts including an implant abutment, a dental restoration and a screw. The head of the screw is provided in a recess formed in the kit-of-parts, with the screw shaft extending through a hole in the implant abutment. A channel in the dental restoration allows access to the screw head by a tool, wherein the diameter of the channel is smaller than the diameter of the screw head. The dental kit-of parts can be manufactured using rapid prototyping such that the captive screw is formed within the combination of the implant abutment and the dental restoration or through conventional means, with the dental abutment and the dental restoration being ex-situ connected to enclose the screw.

  • Publication number: 20170202649
Abstract: Provisional prosthetic systems and methods of coupling such provisional prosthetic systems to a dental implant are disclosed. The provisional prosthetic system can include at least one dental component having a provisional connection feature and a prosthesis. A clinician can couple the prosthesis to the dental component using a bonding agent. The clinician can then drill a hole through the prosthesis. The hole can be configured to receive a fastener to securely fasten the prosthesis and dental component to the implant.

  • Publication number: 20110143315
Abstract: Adapter (10, 110) for transmitting a torque from a screwing instrument to a mounting part of a dental implant, in particular for screwing the dental implant into a bone or for screwing the mounting part into an anchoring part. The adapter (10, 110) has a head portion (20, 120), which can engage with the screwing instrument, and a receiving portion (40, 140). The receiving portion (40, 140) can be connected releasably to the mounting part of the dental implant. The adapter (10, 110) has at least one zone of weakness (32, 50, 132) and, above a predetermined torque Tdeform, deforms in the area of the zone of weakness (32, 50, 132).
