  • Publication number: 20240293826
Abstract: A process for treating a fines stream in a material recover facility (MRF), comprising: providing an MRF fines stream comprising breakable material and ductile material: subjecting the MRF fines streams to a one-pass kinetic pulverization stage to produce a pulverized material comprising a size-reduced fraction derived from the breakable material and an oversized fraction derived from the ductile material; withdrawing the pulverized material from the kinetic pulverizer; and subjecting the pulverized material to separation to produce a size-reduced stream and an oversized stream. Also provided is a system comprising a kinetic pulverizer, a pulverizer conveyor and a screen operatively coupled to the pulverizer conveyor to receive a pulverized stream and produce a sized-reduced stream and an oversized stream. The system can also include a magnetic separator and a dust collection system respectively located upstream and downstream of the kinetic pulverizer.

  • Patent number: 11992955
Abstract: A spearing end effector for a robotic spearing device capturing and sorting a selected item from a mass of items and having a robotic manipulator with the spearing end effector mounted at an end thereof. The robotic spearing device comprises: a spearing end effector body; a spike; a linear actuator having the spike mounted thereon; and a propeller. The spike is configurable between a retracted configuration where it is entirely located inside the spearing end effector body and an extended configuration where it extends outwardly from therefrom. The spike is engageable to the selected item when configured in the extended configuration. The linear actuator is movable to configure the spike between the retracted configuration and the extended configuration. The propeller is selectively activatable to propel the selected item in a propelling direction during an ejection of the selected item from the spearing end effector.

  • Patent number: 10062293
Abstract: A safety system seeking to avoid an undesirable event while piloting a helicopter. According to the invention, the system is remarkable in that it comprises a computer making it possible at any instant t to generate a three-dimensional envelope of fallback paths for the helicopter, the envelope being obtained by calculating, at the instant t, a set of positions that can be reached by the helicopter during a predetermined flight duration, the computer having parameters previously set with data relating to the flight capabilities of the helicopter and including at least one of the following capabilities: maximum speeds and accelerations in all three spatial directions, minimum turning radii for yaw, nose-down, and/or nose-up movements, maximum weight of the transported load, and maximum stresses.

  • Patent number: 9441972
Abstract: A method of assisting in the navigation of a rotorcraft by displaying in flight a dynamic representation of the outside world (Me) in the event of a loss of visibility (brown-out/white-out). Front maps with incorporated localization are generated on the basis of front images captured by a set of front cameras. Terrain elevation data is generated from images captured by complementary sets of lateral and rear cameras. In the event of a loss of visibility, a reconstituted world (Mr) is prepared from the front maps with incorporated localization. On request of the pilot, an extrapolated world (Mex) is prepared by adding terrain elevation data to the front maps with incorporated localization, in compliance with the common time and the relative positions of the various sets of cameras between one another.

  • Publication number: 20120099820
Abstract: There is described a method for fabricating an optical connector comprising: embedding each one of a plurality of first optical waveguides in a corresponding one of a plurality of first grooves of a first substrate; embedding each one of a plurality of second optical waveguides in a corresponding one of a plurality of second grooves of a second substrate; abutting the plurality of first optical waveguides and the plurality of second optical waveguides against walls of the plurality of first grooves and the plurality of second grooves, respectively, by securing a spacer plate between the first substrate and the second substrate so that the first optical waveguides and the second optical waveguides extend along a same axis, thereby obtaining an optical assembly having a front end substantially perpendicular to the axis; and beveling the front end of the optical assembly, thereby obtaining a beveled end for the first optical waveguides and a beveled end for the second optical waveguides offset along the axis for
