  • Patent number: 8878054
Abstract: The invention relates to a multilayer film of A/B/C structure comprising: a first layer of composition A, comprising a fluoropolymer; a second layer of composition B, comprising a filled fluoropolymer; and a third layer of composition C, comprising a fluoropolymer, characterized in that the first and third layers have a melting point above 150° C., measured by DSC, and in that the transmittance in visible light is less than 30% for a multilayer film thickness of 25 ?m. The invention also relates to the use of a fluoropolymer-based film preferably for a photovoltaic cell back panel, a high-performance textile or a metal, the film adhering to the substrate by means of an adhesive layer placed between the substrate and the film.

  • Publication number: 20130319510
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a fluoropolymer and two white inorganic fillers, the said composition being intended for the manufacture of thin monolayer films which are opaque to visible light and to UV rays and which can be used in particular in the field of photovoltaic cells. This composition consists of at least one fluoropolymer and of two white inorganic fillers, which are zinc oxide and titanium oxide; they are present in a proportion by weight ranging from 5 to 30% and from 3 to 7.5% respectively, The said composition additionally comprises less than 5% by weight of acrylic polymer, with respect to the total weight of the composition.

  • Publication number: 20130112268
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition consisting of a fluoropolymer and a white inorganic filler, said composition being intended for the manufacture of monolayer films opaque to visible tight and to UV radiation, useable in particular in the field of photovoltaic cells. The polymeric composition consists of a fluoropolymer and zinc oxide (ZnO), said filler being present in said composition in a weight proportion of 20 to 40%, preferably 20 to 35%. The use of this filler serves on the one hand to avoid the addition of acrylic polymers to the fluoropolymer, and on the other hand, to use processing temperatures that are compatible with the manufacture of a monolayer film by extrusion blow moulding, that is, a temperature of about 220 to 260° C., thereby serving to prevent the degradation of the fluoropolymer.

  • Publication number: 20130053498
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for forming a polymeric composition composed of a fluoropolymer and of zinc oxide (ZnO) of nanometric size from an acrylic masterbatch. The polymeric composition is intended for the manufacture of films transparent in the visible region and opaque to UV radiation. More particularly, in the composition according to the invention, the filler is present in a proportion by weight of 0.1 to 10%, preferably of 0.5 to 6%, the ZnO particles have a size ranging from 25 to 40 nm, preferably from 30 to 35 nm, these particles have a surface treatment and the said composition is devoid of acrylic polymers.

  • Publication number: 20130022806
Abstract: The present invention relates to multilayer films made of fluoro polymers, which have properties that make them suitable for use in the agricultural field, especially as greenhouse covering films. According to a first aspect, the invention relates to multilayer fluorinated films comprising at least three layers, including a layer A made of a first vinylidene fluoride copolymer with a crystallization temperature TcA, and a layer B made of a second vinylidene fluoride copolymer with a crystallization temperature TcB, TcA being greater than TcB, layers A and B being alternating, layer A being placed to the exterior and layer B between two layers A. Another subject of the invention relates to the use of the film according to the invention as an agricultural covering material, especially as a greenhouse covering.
