  • Publication number: 20250148169
Abstract: Embodiments provide functionality for generating finite element models (FEMs). An embodiment begins by obtaining a computer-aided design (CAD) model representing an assembly of parts and an indication of a symmetry plane within the CAD model. From amongst the assembly of parts, a source part and a corresponding mirror part are identified using the obtained CAD model and the indication of the symmetry plane. In turn, the source part is meshed to generate a FEM representing the source part and the FEM representing the source part is mirrored to generate a FEM representing the mirror part.
