  • Patent number: 6957546
Abstract: A portable ice skating rink comprises, in a kit, a plastic sheeting, a protective band for the sheeting, and a number of rigid tubular members, flexible connectors and corrugated clips. To assemble the kit, the tubular members are connected to each other in a closed loop using the flexible connectors inserted in facing ends thereof and with corners of the loop being formed by curving some flexible connectors. The sheeting is then laid over the ground of the area enclosed by the loop while extending outwardly over and past the loop. The protective band is laid over the sheeting opposite the loop and the clips are installed thereat to secure the sheeting to the so formed frame with the clips running continuously all along the frame such as to protect the sheeting. Portions of the frame can be raised to level it and the sheeting can then be pulled.

  • Publication number: 20040089624
Abstract: A clothesline comprises first and second spaced-apart end pulleys mounted to respective brackets for rotation about a substantially vertical axis. An endless cord stretched out and trained on the first and second pulleys forms side by side first and second runs. The brackets provide enough clearance about the pulleys for allowing clothes hanging from the endless cord to pass from one side of the pulleys to the other side thereof, thereby allowing to use the first and second runs for hanging some pieces of garment and, thus, double the overall hanging capacity of the clothesline.

  • Patent number: 6247981
Abstract: A manually powered recreational watercraft comprises a hull and a pair of paddle wheels independently mounted on opposed sides of the hull. Each paddle wheel comprises a plurality of vanes circumferentially distributed on a semi-spherical hub having an inboard flange. Each paddle wheel has a buoyant structure to provide additional lateral floatation stability to the watercraft. The vanes, the hub and the inboard flange of each paddle wheel are configured so that, upon rotation of the paddle wheel, water bubbles trapped between submerged adjacent vanes are channeled upwardly to the water surface whereat the bubbles burst and provide audible sounds. Safety hand grips are provided in the underside of the hull to help a user to pull himself on the hull in the event that the watercraft capsized. A floating windshield is mounted to the hull so as to be automatically separated therefrom upon capsizing of the watercraft.
