  • Publication number: 20230250615
Abstract: Power machines, control systems and methods are disclosed that automatically control engine speed and travel speed, in two different modes of operation. In a first mode of operation, both of engine speed and travel speed are controlled responsive to actuation of a foot throttle. In a second mode of operation, the foot throttle controls travel speed, but engine speed is controlled by a hand throttle. Selection of which of the first and second modes to utilize is based upon an actuation position of the hand throttle.

  • Patent number: 11339041
Abstract: Power machines and control systems used thereon include a lift cylinder, a tilt cylinder, and a slave cylinder mechanically connected to assist the lift cylinder with raising a boom. With a lift control valve controlled to cause extension of the lift cylinder to raise the boom, pressure from a hydraulic source is provided to the slave cylinder to aid in raising the boom. Resulting increased pressure on a side of the slave cylinder opens load holding valves, allowing hydraulic pressure from the tilt cylinder to be communicated to the slave cylinder such that tilt cylinder pressure due to a heavy load on an implement aids in raising the boom.

  • Patent number: 9932215
Abstract: Disclosed are power machines and lift arm suspension or ride control systems for use thereon. A lift arm assembly is pivotally coupled to a frame of the power machine and is capable of being raised and lowered. A selectively activated lift arm suspension system is operably coupled to the lift arm assembly. A controller is coupled to the suspension system and configured to determine whether the lift arm assembly has moved more than a threshold amount. The controller deactivates the lift arm suspension system in response to determining that the lift arm assembly has moved more than the threshold amount.

  • Patent number: 9475680
Abstract: A power machine with an engine, a drive pump driven by the engine, and a drive motor operably coupled to the drive pump to receive a drive signal and provide a motor output to effect travel of the power machine is disclosed. A brake system on the power machine includes a brake for reducing or stopping movement of the power machine. A controller receives indications of a braking condition and whether the drive pump is outputting the drive signal. The controller determines in response to receipt of the indication of the braking condition whether the drive pump is outputting the drive signal to the drive motor shuts down the engine if the drive pump is providing the drive signal to the drive motor upon receipt of the braking condition.

  • Patent number: 8360531
Abstract: Embodiments of a hydraulic brake system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a priority flow control valve for supplying operating pressure has a first orientation in which operating pressure is provided at a controlled flow port and a second orientation in which operating pressure is provided at the controlled flow port and an excess flow port. A steering control unit has an inlet port for receiving operating pressure and an outlet port for communicating a steering control load sense signal. A brake control unit has an inlet port for receiving operating pressure and an outlet port for communicating a braking control load sense signal. The inlet port of the brake control unit and the inlet port of the steering control unit are connected to the controlled flow port.
