  • Patent number: 11539425
Abstract: A satellite communication system includes a first satellite in a geostationary orbit and a plurality of second satellites. Each of the second satellites is in a separate orbit with time-dependent projection on ground. The first satellite is adapted to communicate with one or more user terminals and to communicate with each of the plurality of second satellites via a respective inter-satellite communication link. Further, each of the second satellites is adapted to communicate with one or more feeder link stations. Also disclosed is a method of communicating in a satellite communication system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 15, 2018
Date of Patent: December 27, 2022
    Assignee: European Space Agency
Inventors: Jerome Tronc, Nicolas Girault, Ana Bolea Alamanac, Xavier Geneste, Michael Hadjitheodosiou

  • Publication number: 20180245037
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel non-invasive method for assessing pluripotent stem cells quality in culture. More specifically, the present invention relates to a non-invasive method for assessing genetic integrity (such as the presence of CNVs) of pluripotent stem cells in culture, by assessing cell-free nucleic acids in the supernatant of the cell culture.

  • Patent number: 9225467
Abstract: A method for calibrating a threshold for selecting a transmission format, from a plurality of transmission formats, in order to exchange data packets over a radio-frequency propagation channel, referred to as the “channel” (L1, L2, L3) between a transmitting device and a receiving device of a satellite telecommunications system, includes: calculating a calibration table for the threshold, which associates transmission statistics, representative of an amount of estimated errors for a plurality of data packets received by the receiving device, with a plurality of values of the instantaneous channel quality; and updating the threshold, which, according to the calibration table, is a value of the instantaneous channel quality enabling a predefined value of the transmission statistics to be provided. A threshold calibration module, which can be included in a terrestrial terminal (2), and/or a satellite (3), and/or, more generally, in a satellite telecommunications system, is also described.
