  • Publication number: 20240179162
Abstract: A computing device includes an optical network transceiver and a basic input/output system (BIOS). The optical network transceiver is to connect to an optical network and to generate an event indicating that an optical signal strength has attenuated below a threshold. The BIOS is to determine generation of the event by the optical network transceiver, and responsively detect occurrence of a potential optical network intrusion attack. In response to detecting occurrence of the potential optical network intrusion attack, the BIOS is to perform an action to protect the computing device from the potential optical network intrusion attack.

  • Publication number: 20230315832
Abstract: A dongle includes an upstream facing Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C port and a downstream facing USB Type-C port. The dongle also includes a security processor communicatively coupled between the upstream facing USB Type-C port and the downstream facing USB Type-C port. The security processor is to, with the upstream facing USB Type-C port connected to a host and the downstream facing USB Type-C port connected to a device, authenticate the dongle in response to an authentication initiation request from the host.

  • Patent number: 11487907
Abstract: Multi-mode interfaces having secure alternate modes are disclosed. An example method includes exposing to a device, during a first alternate mode negotiation session, an availability of a first secure alternate mode on a host, authenticating the device to the host using the first secure alternate mode, and responsive to the device being authenticated, exposing to the device a second secure alternate mode.

  • Patent number: 11429549
Abstract: Input/Output port configurations using multiplexers are described herein. An example computing system includes a multiplexer having a first input, a second input, and an output. The computing system also includes a first channel connecting the first input to a first host controller, the first host controller to transfer data at a first speed, and a second channel connecting the second input to a second host controller, the second host controller to transfer data at a second speed higher than the first speed. The example computing system further includes a third channel connecting the output to a port, the port to receive a connector of an electronic device, and a line selector to, based on a type of the electronic device connected to the port, configure the multiplexer to electrically couple the output to the first input or the second input.
