  • Patent number: 7906583
Abstract: Improved adhesives are provided through the use of styrenic radial block copolymers, containing at least 40 wt % diblock copolymers, the adhesives have improved adhesive properties and a reduced elastic behavior under die-cutting conditions. Compared to conventional linear block copolymers of similar molecular weight, radial copolymers offer higher holding power and lower melt viscosity for the adhesive. They therefore contribute to an improved balance between processability and end-use properties.

  • Patent number: 7595365
Abstract: The use of a polyalphaolefin oil or combinations of polyalphaolefin oils to modify the softening point characteristics of a tackifier and compositions containing a tackifier and polyalphaolefin oil are disclosed herein.

  • Publication number: 20090156764
Abstract: Provided are ethylene-based polymer compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of making the same. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include linear low density polyethylene prepared with metallocene catalyst, which may optionally have about 5 mole percent or less of monomer units derived from an alpha-olefin comonomer. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include blends of linear low density polyethylene and one or more very low density polyethylene compositions, one or more low density polyethylene compositions, one or more medium density polyethylene compositions, one or more high density polyethylene compositions, one or more differentiated polyethylene compositions, or other conventional polymers. Articles composed of such ethylene-based polymer compositions are prepared according to a process window, e.g., at a specific extrusion rates, which provides favorable physical properties, including tear resistance and dart drop properties.

  • Patent number: 7524910
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to article comprising a polymer comprising one or more C3 to C40 olefins, optionally one or more diolefins, and less than 5 mole % of ethylene having a Dot T-Peel of 1 Newton or more, a branching index (g?) of 0.95 or less measured at the Mz of the polymer; and an Mw of 100,000 or less. This invention further relates to a process to produce an olefin polymer comprising: 1) selecting a first catalyst component capable of producing a polymer having an Mw of 100,000 or less and a crystallinity of 20% or less; 2) selecting a second catalyst component capable of producing polymer having an Mw of 100,000 or less and a crystallinity of 40% or more; 3) contacting the catalyst components in the presence of one or more activators with one or more C3 to C40 olefins, in a reaction zone.
