    Abstract: The invention relates to a reel for a winder, comprising: a mandrel (10) extending around an axis of rotation (X) of the reel, a plurality of pairs of lateral arms (20a, 20b) extending on both sides of the mandrel (10), together acting as flanks defining, between them, a winding volume for the link, said reel being characterised in that it comprises a closed flange (40) attached to the arms (20a) constituting one of said flanks, said flange having a thickness of between 10 and 40 mm.
