  • Publication number: 20230067940
Abstract: A valve assembly for an exhaust gas recirculation system includes a housing defining an inlet bore and including a second interior surface defining a housing bore. The valve assembly also includes a valve seat and a valve. The valve includes a valve stem and a valve sealing member. The valve assembly optionally includes a baffle at least partially disposed in the housing bore. A first interior radius is defined between the valve stem and the second interior surface. A second interior radius is defined between at least one of the valve stem and the second interior surface, the valve stem and the baffle, and the baffle and the second interior surface. The second interior radius is different from the first interior radius and is configured to direct the flow of the exhaust gas in the housing bore to reduce swirl of exhaust gas in the housing bore.

  • Patent number: 9897226
Abstract: A control valve in which a PWM (pulse width modulated) control pressure signal acts on a membrane to which a control rod is connected tends to wear, and the device to which the control rod is attached likewise tends to wear, due to the transmission of undesired PWM control pressure pulsations. A third chamber is provided in the control valve housing. Control pressure pulsations enter the third chamber via a pressure medium connection. By providing at least one throttle aperture in a partition wall between the third chamber and the membrane acted upon by the pressure medium, it is possible to attenuate the pressure waves, thereby damping the vibration of the control rod, thus avoiding wear.

  • Publication number: 20160131022
Abstract: A control capsule for a regulating device of an exhaust-gas turbocharger; having a housing in which there are formed a first air chamber and a second air chamber which are separated from one another in gas-tight fashion by a spring-loaded diaphragm; having a regulating rod which is connected in force-transmitting fashion to the diaphragm, A hole connects the second air chamber in gas-conducting fashion to the surroundings of the housing. The hole has a hole area of greater than 20 mm2.

  • Patent number: 8915349
Abstract: In a device for feeding book blocks (2) into the infeed channel (11) of a subsequent processing arrangement with a book block feeder (30) that essentially feeds the book blocks (2) into the infeed channel (11) vertically from above transverse to the conveying direction of the infeed channel (11), at least one push-out unit (51) is driven separately of the at least one pusher (14) of the infeed channel (11) and provided in the infeed channel (11) in the region of the book block feeder (30). The separate drive makes it possible to define a push-off motion that allows a gentle start of the push-out unit (51) relative to the book block (2) to be pushed off on the one hand and a synchronous transfer to the continuously moving pusher (14) of the infeed channel (11) on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 8770382
Abstract: In a device for feeding book blocks (2) into the infeed channel (11) of a subsequent processing arrangement with an intermittently rotating star feeder (31) that features several block receptacles (34) that are arranged on a roller divided into disks (33) in a star-shaped fashion and respectively feature perpendicularly aligned first and second locating surfaces (34.1, 34.2), it is proposed that the star feeder (31) features several clamping jaws (36) that are respectively assigned to the block receptacles (34) and arranged parallel to the second locating surfaces (34.2), as well as movable relative to the latter. The star feeder (31) can be operated with a significantly higher angular acceleration and rotational speed without risking that the book blocks lose contact in the block receptacles (34). Even loosely gathered book blocks (2) can be flawlessly processed.

  • Patent number: 8228041
Abstract: A charging control device (D) is installed in a piece of electronic equipment (EE) comprising a rechargeable battery (B) and at least an internal application (A) requiring an application current for its operation. This device (D) comprises a charging control module (CCM) arranged to be coupled to a charger (CH), to be fed with a charge current when it is connected to mains, and coupled i) to the battery (B) to control its charge and provide it with a chosen battery current when so required and when its temperature is within a chosen interval, and ii) to the application (A) to provide it with the application current when the electronic equipment (EE) is connected to the charger (CH). The device (D) also comprises a current sensor means (SM) arranged to determine the current consumed by the application (A) and to deliver a first signal representative of this current consumption.

  • Patent number: 7392067
Abstract: A device includes a main power source for supplying power, and a memory for storing an augmented time which is greater than a current time and is updated periodically using a first clock. An auxiliary power source supplies power to a second clock for providing the current time when the main power source is incapable of providing power. A controller powered by the auxiliary power source is configured to set a start time when main power source is incapable of providing power. The auxiliary power source does not supply power to the second clock.
