  • Publication number: 20140286529
Abstract: Methods and systems for tracking one or more worms or worm-like organisms over a sequence of video frames in virtual real time. The methods and systems can include a robust organism model that accounts for shape changes that occur from one frame to another, such as peristaltic progression, longitudinal deformation, lateral deformation, and bending action. Other features disclosed include: features that allow a user to correct tracking errors, such as splitting a single organism track into two tracks, joining two organism tracks into a single track, switching locations of physical features (such as heads and tails of worms), deleting undesired tracked organisms, and manually tracing organism outlines for model fitting; features that allow a user to set tracking parameters by selecting one or more organisms having desired characteristics; features for automatedly resolving interactions between/among multiple organisms; and features for handling multiple tracking hypotheses, among others.

  • Publication number: 20140250501
Abstract: The invention is a secure element comprising a virtual machine able to work in admin mode and in runtime mode. The secure element comprises two enhanced containers. Each of said enhanced containers can be either in an activated state or in a disabled state. Only one of the enhanced containers can be in activated state at any given time. The virtual machine is adapted to access each of the enhanced containers when working in admin mode. The virtual machine cannot access an enhanced container which is in disabled state when working in runtime mode.

  • Patent number: 8744406
Abstract: The invention relates to a UICC comprising a toolkit applet. The UICC comprises a toolkit security component for establishing and using a secure channel for proactive commands and events exchanged by the toolkit applet of the UICC with a mobile equipment. Other communications between the UICC and the mobile equipment take place outside of this secure channel. The invention also relates to a system comprising a UICC of the above type and a mobile equipment, such as a cell phone. The invention also relates to a method to selectively protect a UICC.

  • Publication number: 20120190354
Abstract: The invention proposes several improvements related to the management of secure elements, like UICCs embedding Sim applications, these secure elements being installed, fixedly or not, in terminals, like for example mobile phones. In some cases, the terminals are constituted by machines that communicate with other machines for M2M (Machine to Machine) applications.

  • Patent number: 7190388
Abstract: A videoconference terminal comprises image restoring means having a display arranged substantially horizontally. The terminal preferably has the shape of a well seat closed at one end by the display, thereby enabling a large number of users to distribute the space around the display. This makes the terminal an original and convivial communication equipment dedicated to informal communications between users distant from one another.

  • Publication number: 20050074834
Abstract: Living cells can be used to identify or quantify bioactive conditions, including without limitation, chemicals, biological pathogens, and environmental conditions, such as pH, in samples based on changes in, for example, cell color, morphology and/or physiology. Such changes can be directly detected or detected with the aid of instrumentation. One embodiment of the method comprises exposing a system to a bioactive condition, such as a chemical agent, a biological pathogen, an environmental condition, such as pH, etc., and combinations of such conditions. The system then exhibits a response to the bioactive condition. The response of the system, or a portion thereof, to the bioactive condition is then represented, such as by digital images. The method then involves attempting to classify a scenario by database comparison. Classification can be in terms of numeric or non-numerical classifiers. Typically, the system comprises living cells.
