  • Patent number: 11412924
Abstract: Devices and methods for measuring high order aberrations from an eye are described. A method includes obtaining information indicating one or more aberrations of an eye, and obtaining information indicating one or more of a visual axis of the eye, a center of a pupil of the eye, and a corneal vertex of the eye. The information from the optical device is used to modify a design of a contact lens so that a combination of the eye and the modified contact lens has reduced high order aberrations. In some cases, information indicating the orientation of the contact lens positioned on the eye is also used. The optical device may include an aberrometer; a first light source for providing first light toward an eye; a lens assembly for collecting light from the eye; and a first image sensor for receiving light that has been transmitted through the lens assembly.

A method includes obtaining information indicating one or more aberrations of an eye, and obtaining information indicating one or more of a visual axis of the eye, a center of a pupil of the eye, and a comeal vertex of the eye. The information from the optical device is used to modify a design of a contact lens so that a combination of the eye and the modified contact lens has reduced high order aberrations. In some cases, information indicating the orientation of the contact lens positioned on the eye is also used. • Publication number: 20220063182
Abstract: A method for fabricating a contact lens by an additive fabrication process includes joining a first portion of the contact lens with a second portion of the contact lens and joining a third portion of the contact lens with at least one of the first portion and the second portion of the contact lens. A center of a correction region of the contact lens may be offset from a center of the contact lens. The first portion and the second portion may include a first material and a second material at different ratios. The first portion and the second portion of the contact lens may include a first material and a second material having different sizes.

  • Publication number: 20220011598
Abstract: A contact lens with a plurality of marks for indicating a position of the contact lens and a rotation of the contact lens while the contact lens is positioned on an eye of a user is described. The plurality of marks includes at least one mark that is scribed on the contact lens. A method for making the contact lens and an optical device for use with the contact lens are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210321868
Abstract: A method includes providing an image of at least a portion of an eye wearing a lens with a plurality of reference markings to a display device for display by the display device. The image includes at least a pupil of the eye and at least a subset of the plurality of reference markings. The method further includes receiving one or more of: a first user input regarding two or more periphery reference markings, a second user input regarding one or more angular reference markings, or a third user input for identifying a position reference point of the eye. The method also includes obtaining a lens surface profile that is determined based at least in part on the one or more of the first user input, the second user input, and the third user input.

  • Publication number: 20210181528
Abstract: Devices and methods for correcting and compensating high order aberrations from an eye using light are described. A method includes providing a first light to a first region of an optical element, thereby modifying a refractive index profile in the first region of the optical element, while offsetting a center of the first region with respect to a center of the optical element. The refractive index profile is configured to compensate for an optical aberration of a subject's eye.
