  • Publication number: 20180047098
Abstract: A method and apparatus for auctioning bets receives data on a bet placed on the outcome of an event and data identifying a seller from a seller interface, the data on the bet including data on the stake placed and the odds; generates auction data using the received data, the auction data including an auction end time prior to the event; generates an auction interface to display the auction data to bidders to create an auction; receives bid data associated with the auction data and data identifying a bidder from the auction interface; terminates the auction at the auction end time and determines a bidder with a highest bid; and electronically transfers the value of the highest bid to the seller and one of: assigns the bet to the highest bidder, and if the bet wins, electronically transfers the value of the winnings from the seller to the bidder with the highest bid.

  • Patent number: 7591944
Abstract: A method of making a sulphided ion exchange resin from an ion exchange resin containing primary or secondary amino group comprises passing a non-aqueous liquid, e.g. a hydrocarbon, feedstock containing elemental sulphur or organic, or inorganic, di-or poly-sulphides through a bed of an ion exchange resin containing primary or secondary amino groups, and so unsulphided ion exchange resins containing primary or secondary amine groups may be used to remove such elemental sulphur or sulphur compounds from liquid, e.g. hydrocarbon, feedstocks. The sulphided ion exchange resins may be used to remove elemental mercury or organic mercury compounds from liquid, e.g. hydrocarbon, streams.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 17, 2003
Date of Patent: September 22, 2009
    Assignee: Johnson Matthey PLC
