  • Publication number: 20080159940
Abstract: The zirconium phosphate according to the invention is characterized in that it is crystallized and in that it is comprised of particles that are a maximum 30 nm thick. It is obtained by a method wherein initially phosphoric acid and a zirconium compound are placed in an acid medium, whereupon a precipitate is formed; the precipitate is subsequently separated from the medium thus obtained and is dispersed in a phosphoric acid solution whose concentration is maximum 6 M; the medium thus obtained undergoes thermal treatment at a temperature which is at least equal to the boiling temperature of said medium. Said phosphate can be used in the preparation of compositions based on macromolecular materials in order to improve the properties thereof.

  • Publication number: 20060155030
Abstract: The invention relates to an exfoliate structured zirconium phosphate characterized in that it is embodied in the form of a gel containing a maximum 1000 ppm organic compounds or a gel devoid of organic compounds which are chemically linked to phosphate. Said phosphate is obtained by a method wherein an aqueous dispersion is formed from a crystallized zirconium phosphate; a quantity of sodium compound is added to said dispersion whereby the NA/P ratio is more than 0.5; an acid is added in order to obtain a gel or a solid compound which is placed once more in water and which results in a gel; the phosphate can be used in the preparation of macromolecular-material-based compositions in order to improve the properties thereof.

  • Patent number: 6811723
Abstract: An organic sol is disclosed comprising titanium oxide particles; an organic liquid phase and at least am amphiphilic compound selected among polyethylene phosphate alkyl ethers. In a first embodiment, the method for preparing said sol mixes said amphiphilic compound and the organic liquid phase, and disperses the titanium oxide particles in the resulting mixture. In a second embodiment, the method forms a mixture of titanium oxide and at least said amphiphilic compound, then disperses said mixture in said liquid phase. A solid compound comprising a mixture of titanium oxide particles and at least an amphiphilic compound selected among these mentioned above is also disclosed.
