Abstract: Techniques for an intelligent document processing assistant are provided. In one technique, an electronic document is received and content thereof is automatically analyzed to determine a document type of the electronic document. Based on the document type, text data is extracted from the electronic document. The text data comprises multiple field values that correspond to multiple field names that are associated with the document type. Some of the field names and field values are presented on a screen of a computing device. In response to receiving, through the computing device, first user input that modifies at least one data item (in the text data that was extracted from the electronic document), the text data is updated to generate modified text data. Second user input that confirms the modified text data is received through the computing device. The modified text data is transmitted over a network to a data storage service.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically creating a packet based on claim ingestion and validation are provided. In one technique, an indication of a receipt of a document is received. In response to receiving the indication, a packet profile that identifies a set of required documents for a claim is identified. A packet is generated based on the packet profile. A particular required document in the set of required documents is identified. Data that associates the document with the particular required document and the packet is stored. The packet is updated to indicate that the particular required document has been received. The packet indicates that one or more required documents, in the set of required documents, that are different than the particular required document, have not been received.

Abstract: Techniques for end-to-end Integration of disparate data systems in claims processing are provided. In one technique, in response to receiving first claim data: (1) a first record in a first data source is identified based on the first claim data; (2) a new record, that represents a claim, is generated in a second data source that is different than the first data source; and (3) a first portion of the first claim data is included in the new record. Second claim data that comprises one or more documents is received and the new record is updated with the second claim data. A third record in a third data source that is different than the first and second data sources is identified. A determination may be made whether any more documents are required for the new record. Based on the third record, it determined whether the claim will be fulfilled.

Abstract: Techniques for providing strategic recommendations, links to actionable tasks, performance planning, and measurements in a workflow are provided. In one technique, electronic documents pertaining to multiple items that are managed by an online digital service are received. Based on processing the electronic documents, workflow data for the items are stored. The workflow data comprises multiple workflow data items, each indicating a status of a corresponding item of the multiple items. A request for item data associated with a particular item of the multiple items is received from a computing device. In response to receiving the request, the item data is retrieved and additional data that is generated by a computer system that is separate from the apparatus is retrieved. The additional data is one of descriptive data, prescriptive data, or predictive data. The item data and the additional data are presented simultaneously on a screen of the computing device.

Abstract: An approach is provided for retrieving physical mail items using Augmented Reality (A/R) technology. According to the approach, mail items are stored in a designated area of a mail item facility and users are notified that the mail items are available for pickup. The users are guided to the locations of their respective mail items in the mail item facility via A/R technology. This includes superimposing visual cues on a live image displayed on a mobile computing device to direct the users to locations of their mail items. Embodiments include dynamically updating the visual cues based upon the location and orientation of the mobile computing device, providing “out of view” assistance, and displaying information about mail items.

Abstract: Improved high-density mail services evaluate historical mail fulfillment data for a plurality of recipients and dynamically assigning mail bins for each recipient based on the historical mail fulfillment data. Subsequently, the dynamically assigned mail is automatically distributed to the plurality of recipients using a distribution mechanism, such as a robotic arm. The high-density mail services may also include determining an estimated next pick-up time period for each recipient based on the historical mail fulfillment data and dynamically assigning mail bins based, at least in part, on the estimated next pick-up time period. The high-density mail services may also include determining a bin size based, at least in part, on an estimated next pick-up time period, or an estimated next delivery time period, and dynamically assigning mail bins based, at least in part, on the bin size.

Abstract: An approach is provided for managing 3D printing processes using a 3D printing management service in a cloud-based environment. Configuration data is received corresponding to one or more available 3D printing devices which may be used to complete a 3D printing job. Build data is received corresponding to one or more 3D printing jobs requested for the one or more available 3D printing devices. The 3D printing management service utilizes the configuration data and the build data to select at least a particular 3D printing device to perform at least a particular 3D printing job based on a resourced load balancing determination. The build data is transformed to a format communicable to the particular selected 3D printer to allow it to perform the particular 3D printing job.

Abstract: An approach is provided for accessing and managing data from multiple heterogeneous data sources, processing the data to generate processing results, and providing user access to the processing results via a portal. The portal provides unified intelligent views of the processing results across the heterogeneous data sources, providing a single source of facts and trends. Embodiments include controlling user access to the views based upon user credentials.
