Abstract: There is provided herein a plug-type apparatus that is suitable for insertion into a drain proximate to its upper extent. In an embodiment the apparatus has a support member that contains a central aperture to allow sized to allow a threaded shaft to pass therethrough. Additionally, according to some variations there will be one or more descending legs that are adapted to engage and hold debris that otherwise would pass through to the plumbing and potentially clog it. In some embodiments each leg will be terminated in one or more upturned catch members. In other embodiments, each leg will have multiple linear or curved catch members that are designed to engage and secure foreign objects that otherwise would pass into the drain.
