At least one locking bar has a first end and is secured along the first arm extending adjacent the first arm to a second end. Additionally, at least one support bar can be provided having a third end and secured along the first arm extending beneath the first locking bar to a fourth end. Either or both of the second and fourth ends may extend beyond a midpoint of the hanger. A second support bar and/or a second locking bar may be provided. The locking bar deflects under the weight of the hung article to engage an article between the locking bar and a support.

Abstract: A pinch clip for a garment hanger, and a garment hanger having such pinch clip, is disclosed. The clip includes an opposable retaining member spring biased into a closed position against a flange formed on one end of the main support of the hanger. The main support includes a through-hole, gap, or opening through which the proximal finger-grip end of the retaining member may pass when the pinch clip is opened. The distal end of the retaining member abuts the flange when it is in the closed position. When force is applied to the proximal end, the clip opens, and the proximal end nests inside and passes through the through-hole. In this way, the clip can be made substantially coplanar with the main support of the hanger, and a more streamlined hanger is the result. The invention may also be molded from a single mold, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process.

Abstract: A pinch-grip hanger formed exclusively of plastic includes a hanger body formed exclusively of plastic, an attachment portion formed exclusively of plastic for securing the hanger body to a support, and at least one pinch-grip formed exclusively of plastic depending from the hanger body for receiving an article there between. The pinch-grip includes a pair of components formed exclusively of plastic (each component including a bottom end for receiving the article there between and a top end), a spring formed exclusively of plastic for biasing the bottom ends together into an abutting, closed orientation while permitting separation of the bottom ends to a separated, open orientation, and a spine formed exclusively of plastic, separate from the spring, for pivotally securing together the components.

Abstract: A garment hanger with clamp pads proximate the opposite ends thereof. The garment hanger includes an elongated garment hanger body and the clamp pads are formed integrally with the garment hanger body to present opposing faces on opposite sides. A U-shaped clip is adapted to slide laterally along each clamp pad to provide a means for releasably locking a garment on the clamp pad. Angled or inclined rails on each pad provide a progressive tightening mechanism for selectively holding a garment against each clamp pad.

Abstract: A garment hanger having body and a hook connected to the body and a tab receiver integrally formed with the hanger. The tab receiver has two spaced-apart flexible receiver members each having paired steps projecting in opposite directions defining an individual step width and, in combination, a combined width. A rigid tab having two paired projections and openings cooperates with the flexible receiver members and the steps to compress the combined widths as the tab projections pass over the cooperating steps of the receiver members and to release and return the compressed widths to their original combined widths which are wider that the projection openings thereby locking and securely retaining the tab onto the tab receiver. A locking member on the base of the tab inserts into the space between the two receiver members, overlaps the two receiver members, and exerts opposing pressure on the two receiver members thereby preventing their movement and removal of the tab.

Abstract: A garment hanger includes a hanger body having an upper bar and a lower bar coupled thereto. The upper and lower bars each have upper and lower surfaces, respectively. A hook is coupled to the upper bar for supporting the hanger body. A finger is pivotably joined to the upper surface of the lower bar proximate the lower surface of the upper bar. The finger pivots upwardly towards the lower bar when a garment is supported on the lower bar over the finger to capture the garment therebetween. An extension bar on the upper bar may include arms to releaseably capture and hold the lower bar thereto.

Abstract: A plastic hanger having clips located at opposite ends of the hanger is described. Each clip comprises grip plates hingedly joined to each other, which grip plates can be forced together to clamp a garment therebetween. To generate the clamping action of the grip plates, the hanger provides cuneiform members formed on the grip plate that can be wedged into an angular recess to close the grip plates together. Teeth are provided on the cuneiform members and along an interior surface of the angular recess to lock the two together and hold the cuneiform member deeply wedged inside the angular recess. Pushing down on the grip plate takes the teeth out of engagement, and accordingly, the cuneiform member can be unwedged and retracted from the angular recess to release the garment. As an option, thumb rests can be added to the grip plates for better leverage. Stubbles can be incorporated into contact surfaces of the grip plates for more contact with the garment.

Abstract: An apparatus for hanging garments and exhibiting garment indicia is disclosed. The apparatus has a body for hanging garments therefrom and a hook. The apparatus also contains an attachment for a garment indicia tab, which is used for displaying information regarding the associated garment. The indicia carrying tab has a body and legs and is removable and interchangeable as desired.
