  • Patent number: 11554970
Abstract: A method for circulating hot air in a solar desalination system includes providing a desalination structure having an air flow path defined between an external surface layer and an internal surface layer. A return flow conduit provides an internal fluid flow path. Saline water is pumped through a center column in a direction from the base towards the peak. The saline water is delivered through a nozzle that extends through a sidewall of the center column to provide a mist within the desalination structure exterior of the center column. An air flow within the air flow path is heated to form a hot air supply. The mist is heated with the hot air supply to form an evaporated fluid. A diverted portion of the hot air supply is delivered into the return flow conduit and mixed with an ambient air to form and heat the air flow.

  • Patent number: 10858273
Abstract: A method and system of treatment of agricultural and industrial wastewaters that contain high concentrations of suspended solids, nitrogen, and phosphorus compounds is disclosed. The method and system includes pre-treating the wastewater, controlling the amount of coagulants used, and controlling the mean velocity used for mixing, surface loading rate, and solids loading rate. The method and system functions as a sedimentation unit and gas flotation unit (solid/liquid separator). The pH of the effluent wastewater is stabilized within the separator by ensuring that there is sufficient alkalinity to buffer the wastewater. Sufficient gas is produced in the coagulation reactions to float and concentrate the solids, which results in as high as 99 percent reduction in suspended solids, a 96 percent reduction of the phosphorus concentration, and a 50 percent reduction of the nitrogen concentration in the effluent from the separator.

  • Patent number: 7604780
Abstract: An ozone disinfection apparatus is provided whereby the ozone is dispersed in a vapor. The use of an ozonated vapor increases saturation of the article, surface or area being disinfected. Ozone from a generator on-board the apparatus is forced into contact with a fluid, such as water, to form the vapor. Particle size of the vapor is controlled by passing the vapor through an atomizer.

  • Publication number: 20070110611
Abstract: A method of disinfecting or sterilizing an article, such as medical devices or tools, is provided. The items are sterilized by placing them in an enclosed chamber and evacuating the air from the vacuum Ozonated vapor is then injected into the chamber for a predetermined time allowing the ozonated vapor to contact, and destroy, the pathogens in the chamber. The ozonated vapor is injected for a predetermined time and at a predetermined pressure. Upon completion of the disinfection or sterilization cycle, or sub-cycle, the ozonated vapor is evacuated from the chamber by reestablishing a vacuum.

  • Patent number: 6872313
Abstract: A method for treating domestic wastewater, in situ, in a single tank. The use of which obviates the need for traditional septic tanks as well as lessening the burden, and reliance on, central water treatment plants. The resulting water is stored for non-potable reuse, thus lessening impact on public water supplies for domestic-utility use. The method is not limited to residential use but is equally applicable to boats, recreational vehicles, hotels, resorts, clubs, rest areas, apartment complexes, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6825040
Abstract: An acid test kit uses an indicator paper in a transparent tube which is easily and temporarily inserted in a Schrader-valve at a compressor suction inlet of a refrigeration system. The simplicity, yet sufficient accuracy, of the kit permits several different ways of holding the paper in the tube through a friction fit. One way is to sandwich the paper between a tapered holder which is folded to provide a nose for actuating the Schrader valve. Another way is to provide the paper on or over a cylindrical member. A method for using the test kit including allowing vapor refrigerant from the system to pass through the tube to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6598431
Abstract: An apparatus and method for using a dry cleaning machine to clean laundry that reduces environmental impacts by the substitution of ozone for the hazardous solvents traditionally used in the dry cleaning washing process. The apparatus and method for dry cleaning includes the steps of filtering the water whereby any debris present in the water is removed, measuring the dissolved ozone concentration of the water, recirculating the water between the tank and the water purifier until a desired ozone concentration is realized ensuring that the desired dissolved ozone concentration of the water is attained prior to the start of the cleaning process and continuously recirculating the water through the dry cleaning washing machine, the water purifier, and the tank during the cleaning process.

  • Publication number: 20020195397
Abstract: A method for treating wastewater includes the steps of collecting wastewater in a tank and transfering the wastewater between the tank and an ozone system in a batch process or as a continuously transfering process. The oxidation of the wastewater is monitored and the wastewater is either re-used or discharged when the oxidation amount has dropped to a predetermined level. In a second embodiment, the wastewater is pre-treated by aeration. This causes contaminates to float on the surface of the wastewater and the contaminates are removed by skimming or decanting. The pre-treatment substantially reduces the power requirements of the ozone system.
