    Abstract: An irrigation system for anal or stomal irrigation includes a tubing system attachable between a reservoir and a catheter. The tubing system has a proximal portion attachable to the reservoir and a distal portion including a distal end that is attachable to the catheter, with the tubing system providing an irrigation flow path from the proximal portion attachable to the reservoir through the distal end attachable to the catheter. A pump is operable to move the liquid through the irrigation flow path to provide the anal or stomal irrigation out of the catheter. A pressure control device is attachable to the distal portion of the tubing system and communicates with the catheter. The pressure control device has a valve that is adapted to limit an irrigation pressure for the anal or stomal irrigation out of the catheter to a value less than a pre-determined pressure threshold.
