Publication number: 20130201686Abstract: The present invention relates to a moving head light fixture comprising: a base; a yoke connected to and rotatable relative to the base; a head connected to and rotatable relative to the yoke where the head comprises at least one light source generating a light. The yoke and the base are connected through a rotating base-yoke mechanism comprising a main shaft, a hollow shaft surrounding the main shaft and at least one bearing separating the main shaft and a the hollow shaft. The main shaft has increasing cross sectional dimensions and comprises a first annular flange located a distance from the part of the main shaft having the largest cross sectional dimension and in that the cross sectional dimension of the first annular flange is smaller than the largest cross sectional dimension of the main shaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2013Publication date: August 8, 2013Applicant: MARTIN PROFESSIONAL A/SInventors: Carsten Dalsgaard, Lars Barslund Kjær, Aleksander Henrik Von Preyss, Niels Jørgen Rasmussen, Uffe Kjærsgaard Toft

Publication number: 20130201703Abstract: The present invention comprising a base having a base element comprising a mounting surface and at least two edged sides protruding outwards in relation to the mounting surface and where a number of electronic components are mounted at the mounting surface and between the edged sides; a yoke is connected to and rotatable relative to the base and a head is connected to and rotatable relative to the yoke. The head comprises at least one light source generating a light and the base element is formed as one piece molded body.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2013Publication date: August 8, 2013Applicant: MARTIN PROFESSIONAL A/SInventors: Carsten Dalsgaard, Lars Barslund Kjær, Aleksander Henrik Von Preyss, Niels Jørgen Rasmussen, Uffe Kjærsgaard Toft

Publication number: 20090231852Abstract: A lighting fixture having at least one fixed element, to which fixed element controllable moving elements are rotatingly fastened, where one moving element has at least one light source. To automatically receive information concerning the orientation of lighting fixture and to achieve feed-forward regulation of cooling in the lighting unit the lighting fixture has an orientation sensor as the at least one the fixed element, which orientation sensor detects at least 3 orthogonal axes and transmits orientation signals to an internal processor in the lighting fixture, which processor calculates the actual orientation of the fixed elements. As a result, a computer that controls the lightning fixture knows the actual position of each component in the lightning fixture.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2008Publication date: September 17, 2009Applicant: MARTIN PROFESSIONAL A/SInventors: Thomas Vinter, Niels Jorgen Rasmussen

Patent number: 7559676Abstract: The present invention relates to a light source module comprising a light source, which light source module comprises cooling means for cooling the light source base, which light source module further comprises a dechroic reflector, where at least one heat sink surrounds the dechroic reflector. The object of the present invention is to reduce the temperature at the lamp base to increase the lifetime of a lamp. This can be achieved by a light source module that comprises at least a first heat sink, which first heat sink comprises a number of dishes, which dishes are formed to achieve air gabs there between, which dishes comprises at least one opening for the dechroic reflector, which dishes are placed radially around the dechroic reflector, which air gabs between the dishes are directed mostly perpendicularly to a centre axis of the light source module.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: July 14, 2009Assignee: Martin Professional A/SInventors: Niels Jorgen Rasmussen, Mads Glavind

Patent number: 7222997Abstract: Lighting apparatus includes an effect wheel which is mounted on a rotation mechanism. The rotation mechanism is mounted on a mechanism which moves the effect wheel from a position outside of the light path to a position in which the effect wheel intersects the light path to provide a continuous wheel effect. The translation mechanism can move the effect wheel between positions in which the effect wheel crosses the light path in a horizontal direction and in a vertical direction, respectively. The apparatus allows a continuous wheel effect to be added to a multi-purpose luminaire and also allows the direction of travel of the continuous wheel effect across the illuminated field to be continuously varied.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2005Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: Martin Professional A/SInventors: Niels Jorgen Rasmussen, Mads Glavind

Patent number: 6687063Abstract: Units for projection of profiled images and for floodlighting suffer from a tradeoff between the quality of the illuminated field and efficiency. The hue, saturation, and intensity must be continuously controllable, and the quality of the illuminated field must be even. According to the invention the optical components have been refined according to a general principle which enables the use of efficient elliptical reflectors without a reduction in quality for both purposes. Each color is controlled by relatively moveable filters having a comblike structure in which the design of the individual teeth compensates for the interaction of the many variables. The intensity is controlled by mechanical dimmers which are designed according to the same principles. This construction will also improve the quality of condenser type projection systems.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2002Date of Patent: February 3, 2004Assignee: Martin Professional A/SInventors: Niels Jorgen Rasmussen, Mads Glavind

Patent number: 6601973Abstract: A light effects projector includes a light source and effect wheels interposed between the light source and an exit aperture of the projector. A gobo wheel includes a plurality of apertures and gobo holders containing gobos. The gobo wheel is adapted to rotate so as to place a gobo, which is retained in one of the holders, within the light path from the light source. The gobo holders of the gobo wheel are removably secured to the gobo wheel by a spring retainer that engages flange portions of a gobo holder. The projector further includes a cooling system to cool the gobos during operation. Additionally, the projector includes an effects wheel that provides a “frost effect” portion to variably distort light from the projector.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Martin Professional A/SInventors: Niels Jorgen Rasmussen, Mads Glavind
