    Abstract: A multi-lens optical device is in communication with an electronic device. The multi-lens optical device includes plural optical modules and a storage element. A pixel correction table is stored in the storage element. The plural optical modules shoot the scene to acquire plural images. The plural images and the pixel correction table are transmitted from the multi-lens optical device to the electronic device. The electronic device produces a panoramic image according to the plural images and the pixel correction table. The multi-lens optical device is responsible for the task of capturing the local images and the simple transmitting task. The image processing task is performed by the electronic device. Consequently, the cost of the multi-lens optical device is reduced.

    Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes an upper cover, a conveying channel, and a document detecting module. The document detecting module includes a metal element, a coil, a detecting circuit, and a controlling unit. The metal element is located at a first side of the conveying channel. The coil, the detecting circuit and the controlling unit are all located at a second side of the conveying channel. While one or more paper sheets are transferred through the document detecting module, the metal element is pushed, so that the magnetic force generated by the coil is subjected to a change. A change amount of the magnetic force value is detected by the detecting circuit. If the change amount of the magnetic force value is larger than a predetermined magnetic force value, the controlling unit judges that the multi feeding condition occurs.

The light-transmission adjusting device is arranged in the light path to the focusing device and the photoelectric conversion device and changes an effective light-transmission area thereof in response to the control signal to adjust light amount passing therethrough.

    Abstract: A dual-mode scanning apparatus is capable of scanning both transmissive and reflective objects. An opaque object or a light-transmissible object is placed on the scanning platform when either of the reflective or transmissive scanning modes is performed. The carriage module is arranged under the scanning platform, and has therein an active light source for emitting light. The light emitted by the active light source is reflected by the opaque object to enter the carriage module in the reflective scanning mode. On the other hand, a light-guiding member arranged over the scanning platform guides the light emitted by the active light source to the light-transmissible object. The light penetrates through the object to enter the carriage module in the transmissive scanning mode.
