  • Patent number: 7343427
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for integrating IP devices into a HAVi network An Internet Protocol (IP) and HAVi compliant device acts as a controller in the HAVi network and communicates with at least on HAVi compliant device using HAVi application programming interfaces (APIs). A server on the controller communicates with at least one IP device having a proxy and an IP and HAVi API. The server includes at least one IP device device control module (IP device DCM) corresponding to the IP device. The IP device providing API support to translate and relay calls between the proxy and the server so that at least one HAVi compliant device can communicate with the IP device.

  • Patent number: 6753790
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for an adaptive remote controller are provided. The remote controller comprises a user control input, a detector, and a user interface. The user control input is configured to receive user input and issue at least one control signal to a target device. The detector is configured to detect if the remote controller is within a target device feedback range. If the remote controller is out of the target device feedback range, the user interface provides feedback that the control signal was successfully sent to and executed by the target device.

  • Publication number: 20020184620
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for an audiovisual (AV) monitoring application for children are described. The AV monitoring system for children includes one or more child devices and a parent device coupled to a network. The parent device has an AV receiver configured to access AV content directed to the child device. The parent device monitors the AV content to determine if the AV content includes a specified content. If the AV content includes a specified content, the parent device generates a warning. The parent device has a display that may display both the warning and the AV content directed to the child device.
