  • Patent number: 11436521
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media can determine one or more actions that a user is likely to take on a page associated with a social networking system, based on one or more first machine learning models. One or more card types that correspond to the one or more actions can be ranked based on a second machine learning model. One or more cards can be generated based on the ranked card types, and each card can include a recommended action associated with the page.

  • Patent number: 10142697
Abstract: Various enhanced interactive TV experiences are supported by a real-time TV service that can interact over a network with applications running on interactive TV platforms. The real-time television service enables data, video, and communication user interface (UI) elements to be supported alongside the linear TV content in three discrete navigational states, each with a specific role aligning to user intent. In the case of one particular UI element—a focused companion panel—a live stream of personalized data is supported that enhances the user's comprehension and awareness of live events. The real-time TV service can further enable users to opt in to certain customizable events and be served notifications on the TV screen on which their attention is directed, and follow the notification into an application that lands them on a specific piece of content that satisfies specific conditions.

  • Patent number: 9749701
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for enhancing a linear broadcast of a network television program by automatically displaying alerts over the linear broadcast relating to web content determined to be of interest to the linear broadcast or user. The alert may include a link such that, once actioned upon, web content may be presented to the user in addition to the linear broadcast or in the place of the linear broadcast.

  • Publication number: 20110000795
Abstract: A method is provided for determining the concentration of an analyte in a sample which comprises: a) performing an electrochemical test comprising: (i) contacting the sample with an electrochemical cell comprising at least two electrodes; and (ii) obtaining at least one group of three or more measurements of an electrochemical parameter from the cell, wherein each measurement in each at least one group is obtained at a different time; b) deriving from said at least one group of three or more measurements a single value that is indicative of the time-dependent behavior of the measured parameter; c) comparing the single value indicative of the time-dependent behavior of the measured parameter with a pre-determined range of acceptable time-dependent behaviors; d) determining whether the test is acceptable based on the result of said comparison; e) optionally repeating the above-mentioned steps; and 0 determining the concentration of the analyte from the measurements obtained from the acceptable test or acceptabl

  • Patent number: 5776001
Abstract: The invention relates to thread formation and particularly to the formation of threads on deformed steel reinforcing rods. The method of forming a thread on the steel reinforcing rod comprises the steps of cold upsetting an end region (1) of a deformed steel reinforcing rod having a nominal diameter, the upsetting being arranged to increase the diameter of the end region to a new, upset, diameter greater than the nominal diameter, rolling a thread onto the end region (1) so as to produce a threaded region having a thread major diameter which is greater than the nominal diameter and a thread minor diameter which is less than the nominal diameter. The formation of such a thread enables the production of mechanical connections between pairs of rods, the connections having a strength greater than that of the rods being connected to one another.
