  • Publication number: 20210298126
Abstract: Provided is an infrared thermal emitter, which includes a first Bragg Grating layer comprising a first film and a second film stacked alternately, wherein the first film and the second film has a refractive index difference greater than 1.5; a second Bragg Grating layer including a film of silicon and a film of chromium stacked in a structure of (Si/Cr/Si)n, where n is an integer and represents a number of repeating period; and a heater layer; wherein the first Bragg Grating layer, second Bragg Grating layer and the heater layer are stacked sequentially from top on down. The infrared thermal emitters have unique advantage of greatly enhancing infrared light emissivity and significantly suppressing visible light radiation simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 10230071
Abstract: There is provided organic light emitting diode (OLED) device that include an organic electroluminescent layer formed between a first electrode and a second electrode. The organic electroluminescent layer is formed of a photo-crosslinkable liquid having dichroic molecules therein, and has a grating pattern defined therein by exposure of regions of the organic electroluminescent layer to a light beam. The refractive index of the exposed regions of the organic electroluminescent layer varies across the grating pattern. A method for fabricating the OLED device is also provided that includes providing the organic electroluminescent layer and defining the grating pattern in the photo-crosslinkable liquid by illuminating regions of the organic electroluminescent layer with a light beam. The refractive index of the defined grating pattern is tuned by adjusting the dosage of light to which the photo-crosslinkable liquid is exposed.

  • Patent number: 10211419
Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) having an organic electroluminescent layer formed between a first electrode and a second electrode. One of the first and second electrodes is a transparent electrode having a surface through which light is emitted from the OLED to the outside. The transparent electrode has a plasmonic photonic crystal structure fabricated having an artificial lattice with a pitch in density variation intermediate in size between a metallic crystal and a photonic crystal formed in the same material as the transparent electrode, thereby operable to suppress propagation of the surface plasmon polaritons at the surface.

  • Patent number: 10168137
Abstract: An optical arrangement, method and measurement system are disclosed. The arrangement includes a first input to receive a first beam from a frequency swept laser, a second input to receive a second beam from a fixed frequency pump laser source. A non-linear optical artifact receives and intermodulates the first and second beams to generate a third beam, the third being an inverted copy of the first beam mirrored relative to the fixed frequency of the pump laser source. A selective combining element outputs the first and third beams. The non-linear artifact or one or both of the lasers is selected or configured such that the optical frequency separation of the first and second beams satisfies the coherence length condition of the non-linear artifact.

  • Patent number: 10056734
Abstract: A frequency tuneable laser device includes a cavity mode selector and a cavity tuning arrangement. The cavity mode selector has a frequency response with a selection feature that is alignable in frequency with a selected cavity mode of the laser device. The cavity tuning arrangement includes a plurality of reflective elements arranged in optical series, and is used to adjust the effective optical path length of the laser cavity to move the cavity modes in frequency. The laser device further includes making the cavity mode selector and the cavity tuning arrangement perform a simultaneous coordinated movement such that respective frequencies of the selection feature and the selected cavity mode vary with substantially the same dependence on a parameter characterizing the simultaneous coordinated movement. For example, a periscope with a co-rotating etalon can be used to provide mode hop free tuning of the laser device.
