Publication number: 20080189364Abstract: A creator provides to one or more recipients an electronic note for display at the recipient's device(s). If the creator updates information in the notes the note displayed at each the recipient is automatically updated. The electronic note can have an expiration time associated with it that causes the note to expire automatically at the expiration time. The creator can alter the expiration time after the note has been provided to the recipients. The creator and recipients can exchange and update the note based on an agreement between them. Such an agreement can be embodied in an electronic contract that specifies the information in the electronic note the creator can update.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2005Publication date: August 7, 2008Applicant: AYMAN LLCInventors: Ilene Landon, John Schillaci, Nigel Simmons

Publication number: 20080021870Abstract: The method of gathering information within a social network of identities in which people or other identities have social relationships with one another, such as personal or business relationships, and each person has an identity account (101) containing information about that person. The identity accounts reside on identity servers (150A, 150B, 150N) connected by way of a computer network (110A, 110B, 110N). Information, such as address and telephone information, is held in each person's identity account (101). The identity accounts (101) can be queried based on the social relationships to find information. One person can query a second person's contact information. The second person can then query others known to that second person for the information. Electronic contracts embody agreements between the people in the social network, specify the terms and conditions for using data in the identity accounts, and can limit the information returned to the person making the query.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2004Publication date: January 24, 2008Inventors: Scott Birnbaum, Nigel Simmons, Adarbad Master

Publication number: 20080010448Abstract: A digital certificate, used in a computing system, includes a distinguished name (DN) field and a common name (CN) field within the DN field. The CN field contains a resource identifier that contains information identifying each of a plurality of resources in the certification path of the digital certificate. The resource identifier can be a hierarchical identifier that specifies an identity of a trusted root resource, and an identity of a resource issuing the digital certificate. The resource identifier can contain identifiers of resources in a certification path between the trusted root resource and the resource issuing the digital certificate. The certification path leads to a trusted source for the computing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2004Publication date: January 10, 2008Applicant: Ayman LLCInventors: Brijbhushan S. Patent number: 7092498Abstract: A universal point of contact identifier system calling device facilitates a connection between a caller and a call recipient over a telephone network by communicating with a universal point of contact identifier system server. The calling device includes a keyboard, a display, a circuit to make a telephone call and transmit and receive digital data over the network, a memory unit and a micro-controller to control the functions of the device. The keyboard facilitates the entry of an identifier, e.g., an email address, into the memory unit of the device. After entry of the identifier, the circuit connects the device with the server and transmits the identifier to the server. The server utilizes the identifier to establish a connection over the network between the caller and call recipient.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2002Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: Ayman, LLCInventors: Ayman Hariri, Scott D. Publication number: 20050289474Abstract: Methods for controlling the display of information shared between users are disclosed. For example, an individual may agree to share his or her contact information with other users, for example, by exchanging one or more vCards of which the individual is considered the owner. The owner has a first relationship with a first user and a second relationship with a second user. Using dynamic electronic presentation skins, which are selected based on the relationships between the parties, the owner's contact information is presented to the first user in a first fashion and presented to the second user in a second fashion. If the relationship between the owner and the first and/or second user changes, a different dynamic presentation skin can be applied to the owner's contact information in the form of a vCard to alter the presentation of the information contained therein.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2004Publication date: December 29, 2005Inventors: Adarbad Master, Nigel Simmons, Ayman Hariri

Patent number: 5839068Abstract: A satellite telephony communication system is used to provide a method of delivering service voice announcements to remote ground transceivers in the satellite telephony system. A relatively small portion of the satellite's bandwidth is dedicated to broadcasting periodic service voice announcements. When an announcement is desired, the remote ground transceiver tunes to the announcement frequency and retrieves the desired announcement in the broadcast sequence. Preferably, the announcements are broadcast in bursts, with a control data burst repeated periodically among the announcement bursts. The control data burst notifies the ground transceiver about the location and duration of each broadcast announcement, thus allowing the transceiver to time its voice path connection to the announcement frequency such that it starts at the beginning of the desired announcement and terminates at the end of the desired announcement.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1996Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Hughes Electronics CorporationInventor: Nigel Simmons
