Abstract: The present invention provides methods of modulating the endometrium, including methods for inhibiting pregnancy and methods for treating gynecological bleeding disorders, such as dysfunctional uterine bleeding and endometrial bleeding. The methods generally involve administering to an individual in need thereof a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonist, e.g., a chimeric VEGF blocker, where the VEGF antagonist is administered during the post-menstrual repair phase. The invention further provides chimeric VEGF blockers formulated for use in inhibiting pregnancy and treating gynecological bleeding disorders, as well as kits and delivery systems comprising the formulations.
