  • Patent number: 11968929
Abstract: An agricultural system including an agricultural baler and a control unit. The agricultural baler includes a baler driveline; a rotatable flywheel; and a rotary input shaft connected by way of the baler driveline to the rotatable flywheel. The driveline includes one or more clutches for controllably transferring rotary drive between the input shaft and the flywheel. The control unit is configured to receive input-power-data indicative of a drive power available at the rotary input shaft; and determine a clutch-control-signal for controlling an amount of torque transferred from the input shaft to the flywheel bye the one or more clutches, based on the input-power-data.

  • Patent number: 11751510
Abstract: A baling machine including a bale-forming chamber for receiving plant matter and forming it into a bale. The bale-forming chamber includes one or more rotatable, bale-forming rollers and a feed mechanism for feeding a flexible wrapping material into the bale-forming chamber for wrapping a bale therein. The baling machine further includes an acoustic or vibration sensor that is configured for generating an output. The acoustic or vibration sensor generates an output signal that is characteristic of operation of the baling machine while wrapping material is being fed into the bale-forming chamber. The status of the output signal indicates whether the wrapping material is being wrapped onto the bale or around the one or more rotatable, bale-forming rollers.

  • Patent number: 9010240
Abstract: A square baler includes a control system having a closed loop mode of operation in which at least one of the volume of the feeder duct and the threshold pressure of the pressure sensor is varied automatically to maintain the capacity parameter within one of a plurality of desired capacity ranges. The desired capacity range is selected by the control system in such a manner as to maintain the width of each slice in the finished bale within predetermined limits.

  • Patent number: 8539878
Abstract: A square baler comprising a controller for controlling the operation of the baler in dependence on the first, second and third signals representing the mass of a bale, the force of the piston of the baler, the energization of the actuator respectively and an input target value for the mass of the bale wherein the first signal is fed back in a first control loop and compared with the target weight to generate a target force, the second signal is fed in a second control loop and compared with the target force to generate a target energization, the third signal is fed in a third control loop and compared with the target energization to control the energization of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 7790991
Abstract: A weighing apparatus for bales as they are released from the bale chute of an agricultural baler has a weighting table supported on a first side of a support frame by a single load beam and supported on a second side by a support element. The weighing apparatus has a mechanism for measuring the inclination of the weighing table relative to the horizontal as well as a load beam and processor. The processor receives the signal from the load beam and based upon the sensed inclination provide an indication of a weight supported by the weighing table.

  • Patent number: 7584696
Abstract: A square baler has a baling chamber and a bale chute arranged at the discharge end of the baling chamber. The bale chute comprises a rear portion that is pivotable about a horizontal axis to allow each bale to be lowered onto the ground without the bale toppling onto its end as it leaves the chute. The invention weighs each bale while the whole of its weight is supported by the rear portion of the bale chute.

  • Patent number: 7514640
Abstract: A weighing apparatus comprises a weighing table secured to a support frame by way of a load beam, the load beam being an elongate member having a through hole receiving a securing bolt fixed to the weighing table. In the invention, the securing bolt passes through a bracket, having two limbs disposed above and below the load beam, respectively. A pressure distribution plate is compressed by the securing bolt between one limb, of the bracket and one side of the load beam. On the other side of the load beam, a cylindrical sleeve encircling the securing bolt passes through a hole in the other limb of the bracket, to prevent movement of the bracket transverse to the axis of the securing bolt.
