  • Publication number: 20140092866
Abstract: Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a wireless terminal and base station, and corresponding methods therein, for providing a handover for a subset of bearers associated with the wireless terminal. The subset of bearers is less than a total number of bearers associated with the wireless terminal. Thus, upon the completion of the handover procedure, at least one bearer will stay connected with a source base station.

  • Patent number: 8687619
Abstract: A system, method and node of downlinking transmissions to an unsynchronized UE in a telecommunications network. The method begins by a node in the network requesting synchronization of the UE with the network. A first transmission of data is sent from the node to the UE prior to synchronization of the UE. The UE then synchronizes with the network by the UE performing a Random Access procedure with the node, thereby triggering a time alignment command from the node to the UE to synchronize the UE with the network. A second transmission of data is then sent from the node to the UE after the UE is synchronized. A response feedback message is sent to the node from the UE. The message is a cumulative feedback message of the first transmission of data and the second transmission of data. Thus, data may be transmitted prior to synchronization of the UE.

  • Patent number: 8681835
Abstract: In a receive node of a wireless network, an iterative multi-user multi-stage interference cancellation receiver is used. The receiver performs code-averaged equalization and chip chip-level code-specific interference over-cancellation on the received signals. This can result in a unified interference cancellation processing, and can avoid cumbersome calculations of code cross correlations that is required in symbol-level interference cancellation. A symbol-level code-averaged desired signal add-back is performed to address the over-cancellation of some desired signals.

  • Patent number: 8351334
Abstract: The present invention relates to quality-based scheduling of data in wireless networks. In this scheduling, quality information representing the degree of decodability of previously transmitted but not correctly received and not successfully decoded data packets is estimated in receiving communications nodes. This quality information is reported back to the node that transmitted the packet. The quality information will be used by the transmitting node when scheduling subsequent data transmissions. In this scheduling process, at least one of selection of: i) receiving node(s), to which a second data packet is to be forwarded; ii) a type of the data in the second packet; and/or iii) a data flow, to which the second packet belongs, is performed based on the quality information.
