  • Patent number: 9823158
Abstract: A system for ultrasonic leak detection employs a number of ultrasonic signal generators, each of which include an ultrasonic transducer generating an ultrasonic signal and an audio transducer generating an audio signal in the frequency range of human hearing that is a replica of the ultrasonic waveform. The ultrasonic signal generators are activated and placed at selected locations within the enclosure to be tested. The operator can listen for the audio signal to verify operation and the output waveform type of the ultrasonic signal generators. A mobile ultrasonic leak detector can then be employed outside the enclosure to detect any leakage of the ultrasonic signal through the enclosure wall to identify any leak paths.

  • Patent number: 9786033
Abstract: A method for displaying sensor readings in a measurement instrument having an array of display elements initially divides the range of interest of the sensor reading into a plurality of consecutive sub-ranges and determines a scaling function for displaying sensor readings for each sub-range. For each sensor reading, the appropriate sub-range is determined into which the sensor reading falls (where N is the number of this sub-range). The scaling function for the Nth sub-range is applied to display the sensor reading using N consecutive display elements. Optionally, the system may include a visual or audible indicator for the use when the display rolls from one sub-range to another. The display may also include feature indicating the peak sensor reading encountered.

  • Patent number: 7540183
Abstract: Provided is a method of monitoring a device to ascertain leakage of the gas there from. An area in the vicinity of the gas is illuminated with ultraviolet light, thereby causing the gas or its residue to fluoresce. A gas sensor is exposed to the gas whereby it generates the gas detection input signal, which is then processed to produce at least one output signal in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 6079275
Abstract: A resonator assembly adapted for use with a signal detection instrument includes a sensor operative to detect airborne sound signals and a touch rod. The resonator assembly operates to convert sound signals traveling within the touch rod into the airborne sound signals for detection by the sensor and comprises a mount adapted to interconnect the signal detection instrument and the touch rod, a flexible resonator element, and a stem interconnecting the mount and the resonator element so that, when the touch rod is secured to the mount and the mount is secured to the signal detection instrument thereby positioning the resonator element relative to the sensor, the resonator element operates to convert the sound signals traveling within the touch rod into the airborne sound signals for detection by the sensor. A touch probe resonator is also provided for converting sound signals traveling in a first medium into sound signals traveling in a second medium for detection by a sensor.

  • Patent number: 5436556
Abstract: A signal detector and signal detection methodology is provided to monitor oscillatory signals to produce detector output in response to the presence of target signals having a frequency within a selected frequency range. The detector has input processing circuitry that receives the oscillatory signals and filters out those which do not fall within the selected frequency range to produce an input signal. This initial signal is processed by a Schmitt-Trigger to create a square-wave signal. The processing circuit includes a scaler sub-circuit to divide the square-wave signal by an integer, and an integrating sub-circuit integrates the resulting scaled signal to produce the intermediate signal. An amplification circuit has variable gain controlled by averaging the amplitude of the input signal by way of the control component so that the initial signal is amplified according to the original amplitude to produce a scaled replica of the filtered input signal.
