  • Patent number: 4840811
Abstract: A process for producing colorless, odorless and tasteless cassia endosperm flour is revealed in which the endosperm is extracted at least once, either in a whole or comminuted state, with a mixture of (a) water, and (b) alkanol and/or acetone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 1987
Date of Patent: June 20, 1989
    Assignee: Diamalt Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Friedrich Bayerlein, Nikolaos Keramaris, Nikolaus Kottmair, Manfred Kuhn, Michel M. Maton
  • Patent number: 4753659
Abstract: The invention relates to new alkyl ethers and phosphoric acid esters of Cassia tora polygalactomannans and their use, alone or in combination with other thickening agents, as thickening agents.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 11, 1986
Date of Patent: June 28, 1988
    Assignee: Diamalt Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Friedrich Bayerlein, Nikolaos Keramaris, Manfred Kuhn, Ulrich Beck, Nikolaus Kottmair, Michel Maton
  • Patent number: 4745184
Abstract: Method for preparation of dispersible, water-soluble polygalactomannans and polyglactomannan derivatives by crosslinking with borate ions, in which the polygalactomannan-containing endosperm of legumes is allowed to soak in an aqueous alkaline solution of a material containing borate ions in which the concentration of the borate ions, expressed as borax, is between 0.001 and 0.09 wt. % and the hydroxyl ion concentration, expressed as NaOH, is between 0.2 and 10 wt. % of the polygalactomannan and after taking up the solution, the cell structure of the splits is mechanically destroyed using high shear forces in a flaking, crushing or extruder process and then the product of the process is dried and ground in known fashion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 17, 1987
Date of Patent: May 17, 1988
    Assignee: Diamalt AG
Inventors: Friedrich Bayerlein, Peter-Paul Habereder, Nikolaos Keramaris, Nikolaus Kottmair, Manfred Kuhn

  • Patent number: 4368324
Abstract: A sizing agent for yarns made of cotton, regenerated cellulose and synthetic fibers and their mixture. The sizing agent substantially comprises a hydroxyalkylated polysaccharide from the seed of Cassia occidentalis. The polysaccharide has a viscosity of from 40 to 10,000 mPas (10% aqueous solution, 80.degree. C., Brookfield RVT) and a substitution degree of from 0.05 to 1.0.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 1981
Date of Patent: January 11, 1983
    Assignee: Diamalt Aktiengesellschaft
