    Abstract: An apparatus for cancellation of vibrations in a device. A first matrix (51) combines the vibration signals from a plurality of locations to produce mode signals indicative of individual modes of vibration of said device. An adaptive element in response to said mode signals generates mode vibration attenuation signals corresponding to said mode signals. A second matrix (56) combines the mode vibration attenuation signals to produce vibration attenuation signals for generating vibration attenuation forces.
